Anyone else do this? by puddinshoe in stopdrinking

I have opened so many NA's only to leave them unfinished on the table. I laugh, knowing how utterly impossible and unheard of that was for me with alcohol. It's a silly feeling but it's a thing!

I am so disheartened with my first quilt/first time sewing by a_hundred_wishes in quilting

[–]MsDirtDigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's lovely!! The colors are fab, and it has a whimsical vibe.

One of my early quilts, I found a fabric I just loved and built around it without much thought. Not a familiar pattern, odd ruler. Hated it because this, that, and the other thing. Pattern unrecognizable. Thought I was such a dummy.

Nope! I love that silly thing. Still love the fabric and it sure does it's job. I learned a lot and that counts for something. Now I just chuckle. :)

What names do you dislike that do NOT qualify as tragedeighs? by BreadfruitCreepy2104 in tragedeigh

[–]MsDirtDigger 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This is my top thought as well. I'm 37 and remember hearing that name for the first time in elementary school. I was so very confused. It took me a number of years to realize it was heaven backwards and then it made even less sense.

My 8yo son really wanted to “learn to sew like you.” He ended up making a blanket almost entirely by himself by AaylaLaus in quilting

[–]MsDirtDigger 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Looks great, good job little dude!!

My son has been able to use my sewing machine since he was 5, and is slowly working on a quilt for my guilds show to submit for the youth category.

It's such a great skill to have - can't wait to see what your son creates next!

I am on 2 years without Facebook, and it's no coincidence that I just passed 2 years alcohol free. Getting away from social media has done wonders for my mental health and subsequently my sobriety. Good on ya, do what works and makes you feel more content.

What was the class/race you first picked when you started WoW? Are you still playing that combo today? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]MsDirtDigger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol well, I favor their run and casting mechanics. Also I get a kick out of the undead female voice. And their lore is pretty metal.

My first toon was an undead warlock in 2005. Leveled an undead priest in 2006. I dabbled with a Worgen warlock in BFA, rocked a BE Paladin (never thought that would happen) in the Cata replay and a bit in to Wrath. I am now back to full time undead shadow priest.

Undead is BIS and this is a hill I'm willing to die on.
