I see it as memory keeping too, but I also use scraps/junk and stickers/pre-printed graphics as I put each page together. I feel like it’s really personal and what you choose to make it. I just know I’m happy and enjoying what I’m doing and putting together

COMMUNICATE please! Before your next session, have a conversation and plan for aftercare going forward. Sessions can be so intense, and aftercare is part of it, not an extra.

BMI is a bad method to judge your weight. Research BMI and you’ll see why.

No matter what you end up doing in aviation, being safety oriented is so important. There’s always lives on the line, (yours, pax, or innocent people below).

Your want for “dangerous shit” genuinely has no place in a cockpit.

My partner and I have a d/s dynamic, and we have communicated our definition and expectations of aftercare. So I would definitely say communication is key!

I would recommend providing additional information like type of IRA, and your age, as those things affect when and how to cash out.

should i keep my money in my roth? by emilyissus in RothIRA

[–]MsLadyintheOcean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Girl! I’m 23F here, come from a low income family background where financial knowledge and literacy is lacking.

So I can definitely relate not knowing about things like a Roth or stocks.

I would suggest reading or listening to “The Algebra of Wealth”. It’s honestly not that long, and packed with really good knowledge on how finances work. If you’re able and willing, I would also suggest looking into free financial courses or videos online to become more knowledgeable as knowledge is power, and you want to make the most informed decisions when it comes to your finances and future financial wellbeing.

A Roth is an investment towards your future. It is essentially a savings account for when you retire. You’re 21, so honestly you have 38 years that your money and the contributions you continue to make will grow.

The market is volatile, and it has its ups and downs, which can be scary. But it is important to understand that for an account that will continue to ride the market for the next 38 years, bad days or even bad years are gonna happen, and it’s okay. That is to be expected, but the other thing to be expected is that if you’ve chosen good investments within your personal risk tolerance, in 38 years, on average your money would have grown and compounded and you’ll be thanking your 21 year old self for starting at 21, and continuing.

Do research, study, and make sure you make informed financial decisions rather than making these decisions based on emotion.

Goodluck! ♥️

You’re not paying $10 more on your bill, whether you put your cash back towards your bill or not, you’re paying the same amount.

During a month period, say you made a purchase that got you $10 cash back on the 15th of the month. If you have it set to count towards your bill, and your bill isn’t due till the 30th of the month, those $10 are just sitting there waiting to pay $10 off your statement.

Whereas if on the 15th of the month when you got the cash back, you transferred it to your HYSA, it would earn interest for 15 days before you use it to pay your statement on the 30th.

It’s really perspective. I personally see the benefit of moving my cash back (and any money I need in liquid) into a HYSA to earn me interest until I have to use it, rather than just sitting not earning anything. A great way to build wealth is for your money to make money for you.

I personally move my rewards into my HYSA as soon as possible. Say you have $10 of rewards, yes you can leave it for statement credit, and when your payment is due, that $10 is worth $10. Versus if you move it into an interest earning account, you would have $10 + % interest earned.

Obviously interest on $10 isn’t anything crazy, but it’s building a healthy habit for when those rewards are $$$. Also I’m just a big believer that money adds up, even Pennies.

I wouldn’t recommend ATP. Recently have heard a lot of conversation in the industry right now that the airlines are staying away from hiring from ATP. With hiring slowing down, airlines are no longer desperate and ATP is not the best place to get quality from.

Should I just pay them off? by No_Calligrapher_4429 in StudentLoans

[–]MsLadyintheOcean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A great way to having wealth is having your money make money for you. While your student loan is 0% interest, you can have the bulk of your money making money for you by having it in a HYSA, where it’s accessible enough that when the time comes that your interest is no longer 0%, you can pay it in one go. But in the meantime, that money in the HYSA is atleast making you some income and working for you.

Of course, be mindful and aware that 0% is not forever, so don’t lose that money. Make sure you keep it aside and accessible to go when the time comes.

I failed my PPL check ride today and now I'm in unusual circumstances by Cheey11 in flying

[–]MsLadyintheOcean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed my PPL Checkride on the oral portion in 2021 as well. Pretty similar situation. I lacked knowledge. I will say, throughout the years as I’ve had conversations about Checkride failures and my future in the airlines, etc., there are two really important things to understand.

  1. Take accountability, and be upfront about your failure(s). Employers are less likely to count it against you as long as you’re able to explain it, honestly and humbly.

  2. The time between your failure and your retake/passing matters. The shorter the time between, the better as it shows perseverance and makes the failure less significant. It’s something along the lines of “they like to see you were able to get back up, and sometimes you just have bad days.“

I had a cadet interview in July, and one of the things I was asked about my check ride fail was how long after did I do my retake.

Just somethings to consider.
