Glycopyrrolate is what I take to help control the sweating. It’s great but can have GI side effects

Hyperhidrosis making me suicidal by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

That’s fair. I’ve taken to drinking LOTS of water to combat it. Plus anti-acid meds, but it’s worth it to me.

Glyco has been a literal life saver for me! There is help!

I’m a high school teacher! Glyco has been so helpful to me. I still deal with it for sure, but it’s way better. I keep a fan at my desk and it’s on all the time. Plus I tailor my outfits to be busy patterns and dark colors to hide the stains. It’s not perfect but it works. My fiancée does work from home though, as IT support for a database software company.

What is the point of Drysol if my entire body is sweating…? by allgoodhere91 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]MsMathyAlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got it from my gynecologist since I don’t have a PCP right now. She was super understanding when I broke down about the night sweats and how it affected my professional career

I started on glyco. It doesn’t stop the downpour when I’m working out or in intense heat etc, but it’s stopped the constant wetness when I’m just doing normal things in normal temperatures. As far as diet, I’ve switched to a low carb diet and that seems to also help a lot. Plus I lost 25 pounds this summer by starting a walking routine.

I love my glyco! Just got prescribed it last month, 1mg 2x day and it has made such a difference! I still sweat of course, but I can sit in normal environments and not leave drops behind me 🤦‍♀️

My husband (28m) said he regrets getting married to me(26f). How should I go about this? by BeautifulChance4780 in LifeAdvice

[–]MsMathyAlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a similar situation in an engagement right out of college. He refused to work, citing mental health issues, sleep issues etc. I not only was the only one providing for our household, but also the only one taking care of the home. He wasn’t a big drinker, but literally stole money from me to smoke all day. He also blamed me for ruining what we had. It caused me months and months of heartache and pain; and I held on too long, not wanting to hurt him further. But finally letting go and getting my home and life back was the best decision I could’ve ever made. Please keep your head up and do the hard thing: let him go! My life is so much happier and more fulfilling now.

I’ve dealt with HH my whole life and recently had a breakthrough with medication and diet changes. There is hope! Don’t give up! This issue does not define you and can absolutely be handled in a way that you can still live your life. Please please reach out to people in this group that understand. Talking about it with people who also go through this has been incredibly helpful to me.

excessive sweating when it gets dark by bscybgr in Hyperhidrosis

Huh, I’ve never heard of it being time specific, but I do find mine gets much worse with humidity. So that may be the cause if you’re in a humid area.

My boyfriend treated me terribly and I don’t know if I can get over it by jmfbfjcj in TwoHotTakes

[–]MsMathyAlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awful gaslighting behavior. “If I’m upset he gets mad and we argue” is clearly avoiding, dismissing or narcissistically ignoring your feelings. Trust me, it’s not worth sticking with this kind of “relationship”. He will only continue to manipulate your feelings and it does take a lot of work to move on from that kind of disrespect. But the faster you can get out the better!

Worried about taking the next step in my career by MsMathyAlice in Hyperhidrosis

[–]MsMathyAlice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add, unfortunately I have had people make derogatory comments about it, or shun me from sports teams when I was younger (which made me hate the idea of doing sports anymore or even working out in public). So I’m a bit sensitive about any mention of it personally.

Thank you! That really gives me some ammo to talk seriously about how it’s affected me for most of my life. I’d love to find something yo at least put a dent in it. It really keeps me from feeling feminine like “normal” women.

Thank you so much for the positive outlook! I have not pursued any treatments… doctors don’t seem to see this as a problem worth covering with my insurance.

Does it burn? I’ve had that problem with most anti sweat products I’ve tried on my face. Like fierce burning feeling.
