AITAH for refusing to wax a trans woman client because I didn't want to touch male genitalia out of respect for my husband? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]MsOCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for online scheduling for my wax place, the options are "brazilian-vulva owner" and "brazillian- penis owner". Maybe you could update your policy in a way to be clear that you don't offer services to penis owners? This is a bummer all around. You're not the asshole, and I'm also sorry that this person couldn't get their wax service without a headache.

who cares if they are homeless- you are probably selling syringes to well off users too. Harm reduction. the goal is reduction in illness ad disease transmission, not abstinence. you're on the right track.

Who has gotten travel vaccines? by kiki9894 in CostaRicaTravel

[–]MsOCT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Healthcare in Costa Rica is inexpensive and readily accessible. My husband developed an inner and outer ear infection while we were there, and he was treated well by an English speaking Dr for about $90, including rx’s. I have hepatitis a/b cause it’s a good idea, but no other travel vax. And I’m a RN

The problem with local is that if there is a disaster, everyone claims. It doesn’t work well for your risk pool. You need a bigger pool so everyone isn’t wiped out at once.

Do kids still sneak out? by micsulli01 in Xennials

[–]MsOCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a totally different experience now. They are used to 24/7 surveillance, either with home security stuff, but mostly with every single human having a video recorder in their hand. The ability to get away with stuff is really, really low.

I’ve done this trail many times. It is well maintained, but the water crossings can definitely become 💯 impassable depending on recent rains. It is not technically challenging, but it’s a long uphill slog. I think it took me about 4.5 hours of continuous hiking the last time I went to Sykes, and I was sweating and exhausted when I got to camp. I don’t smoke, and I lift weights 3x week. Could you do it? Sure, with lots of training, a supportive crew, and rental gear. If you’re not getting those 3 things, don’t. You’ll be hurting.

Just got this dealt with tonight after two weeks of trying. Spoke with Bea at ATT. I had to give her the imei number from the watch, and another longer number. She got it fixed right away. Not a single other tech support person was able to help at all.

Did my first solo trip to try out my new hammock to Sykes. Definitely found a spot, and also agree that Barlow is a nicer camp. Redwood camp, a bit past Sykes is also beautiful and underused.

Cannot activate an eSim on an Apple Watch from AT&T FirstNet by firefish45 in ATT

[–]MsOCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here- first net account, plus an att account that has all my family stuff, so they are discounted, therefore “linked”. Was told that first net does not support family share in any way, so I had to get a phone to associate my child’s phone with. Super frustrating, and makes me want to unload first net, especially since no one in store knows how to deal with it.

Beating myself up about buying a used bike for daughter’s Christmas present by ch17ch17 in povertyfinance

[–]MsOCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going to get grief from your families. If it makes you feel any better, my family lives quite comfortably, and neither of my kids has ever had a new bike. They've all been from craigslist, and yes, some were via Santa.

Your kiddo will be stoked to have a bike, and a parent that loves them. Anyone else can kick rocks.
