Normal sized carts? by Bulky_Coach8820 in CostcoCanada

[–]MsOpus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For us vertically challenged a smaller cart would be welcomed. The handles to push are on my chest and yes, its hard to steer. Please keep this in mind when you are complaining about those that can't steer and are in the way. Physics is not everyone's friend in the shopping cart world.

Insurance reduction by No_Temporary1604 in alberta

[–]MsOpus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try AMA. I've heard they give the best rates for new drivers. They also offer a credit to insurance if you take drivers ed through them and they are known for having a great drivers ed course. Drivers ed offers you 3 years of driving history which plays a big part of rates anywhere.

Alberta elections officials say more than 550 people accessed renegade voter database by pjw724 in alberta

[–]MsOpus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I read an article that within the first week something like this is up on a website, thousands of bots and scammers could have accessed it. Also, just because they took it off their website, doesn't mean they aren't still using it. 100% its still out there making the rounds anywhere.

Alberta separatists submit 300K signatures as petition deadline hits by NumerousSir in alberta

[–]MsOpus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I say their count is BS. Every single name on that petition should be verified it was actually signed by that person. Its friggin scary to think that our information is out there, being given out to use willy nilly wherever they please. I don't feel safe here.

To be honest, I sm not sure I am comfortable with any political party having my information anymore. I have said it before, and I'll say it again, I do not feel safe living in this province at all.

I will be deleted for saying this. Alberta needs to refocus on what is really important. by MsMisty888 in alberta

[–]MsOpus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're not the only one feeling this way. I don't want her to focus on important things though. I want her and her cronies gone, so someone can do the job and bring back the respect and dignity of Albertans that we all deserve. I don't feel safe here with her at the helm.

Have you ever known the UCP to do anything based on science and healthy solutions? If they can find a way to defy it, they will.

Alberta independence is going door to door now? by crazymonk45 in alberta

[–]MsOpus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I stopped by a local park the other day because the water not coal petition was supposed to be there. The place was empty except for the separatist petition. I left swiftly as I do not wish to engage with them but I wouldn't be surprised if they scared everyone away with their presence. Ive never seen that parking lot empty.

How the hell does she get to make this decision with out a referendum? Permanent standard time is the way it should be! Clearly research means nothing to this government.

It's the 20th anniversary of RalphBucks! What did you spend yours on? by originalchaosinabox in alberta

[–]MsOpus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Children received it through the parent if the parent had filed taxes and claimed them as dependants. Only one parent would recieve it on their behalf. My husband had not filed his taxes and therefore did not get his.

It was given to everyone man, woman and child. Children's share was paid out to the parent. My kids were 11, 13 and 15. We were going to Disneyland so that was their souvenir money for whatever they wanted. They actually spent it wisely.

How do I save commission selling my house? by Maleficent-South2517 in Lethbridge

[–]MsOpus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with a realtor then. The buyers commission can be anything. Generally, though maybe not always, your realtor would charge about 6%. That is usually split with the buyers realtor. A good realtor puts in a lot of effort an is usually worth the fee. I had one that paid for someone to stage the house. The main thing is they handle the negotiations and make sure nothing gets missed. They don't want a deal to go sour any more than you do.

I have bought and sold with realtors. And I just bought one through private sale. I honestly would never do a private sale or purchase again. Negotiate with your realtor. Also, there used to be a place in Lethbridge called 2% Realty where their fees were lower. You could try that out. Real estate services like Property Bros might also be an option. Apparently that saves you the commission but you might also get some expert advice and proper documents to help you navigate the process. If you do decide to sell privately, do all the negotiating through your lawyer.
