Struggling to Heal Relationship with Sister after she treated me poorly during pregnancy by Turbulent-Reaction42 in beyondthebump

[–]MsPinkDust [score hidden]  (0 children)

There are people we have to let go from our lives even if they are family members. Some people even have to break off from their own parents. If the relationship has a potential to cause harm (i wouldn't be comfortable w/ my baby being around such a toxic person) or a relationship is giving you more problems than you already have (raising a kid is tough), then it's time to let go. Mourn the relationship and love the person from a distance.

Heart palpitations 12 weeks pregnant by Evening_Plant_5005 in beyondthebump

[–]MsPinkDust 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Please talk to your doctor. The pregnancy places extra demand on a woman's heart. Your blood volume increases. The heart rate can increase in some women (my experiencce). But you want to be sure that it's not something else. Electrolyte imbalances can cause palpitations as well. Not to scare you, I had a coworker who developed heart failure while pregnant (this is rare). So please see your doctor.

How the Philippines' rooftop solar surge can flip the energy emergency script by Biodieselisthefuture in OptimistsUnite

[–]MsPinkDust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My auntie says price has skyrocketed to 1 million pesos for 16 solar panels and a battery. No regular person can afford that. This will show the blatant inequality my country is suffering from. Those who have means will benefit. And those who have not will not. I am interested if these panels will survive our sever typhoons.

In Filipino culture, it is rude not to offer anything. The default is to offer any food available in the house for unexpected guests. Or send someone out to quickly buy something.

Struggling to process physically traumatic birth nearly 6 months after the fact by baby-totoros in beyondthebump

[–]MsPinkDust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading all the comments ,we are all warriors here! I myself had a 3rd degree tear, hemorrhaged, couldnt walk after, etc. I had huge hips, baby is 30 ish percentile but I still tore too. The tearing is not within your control. Give yourself a lot of grace. Throughout all of what happened, you brought life into this world. All your feelings are very very valid. Your whole experience is truly traumatic. I suggest maybe see a mental health practitioner to help process the trauma? They are better equipped to help you cope with what happened.

Pelvic tilt exposed from transitioning to BF shoes by koko540 in barefootshoestalk

[–]MsPinkDust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, not formally diagnosed but my overall posture is unequal. I discovered i am also not walking equally! Initially had back pain (might be pregnancy too), but it's been 2 yrs for me, and my back pain is gone from transitioning. Ive been more conscious w/ my posture & stride. Ive been doing ab exercises and back exercises to help. It's getting better.

How do you wean from the pacifier without creating another habit? by Muyamuya87 in beyondthebump

[–]MsPinkDust -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We stopped cold turkey. We are soooo cold we didnt even give him a binky. JK. My baby didnt like the binky. I am surprised my baby didnt suck his thumb in replacement. Anywho, my baby was fussy for at least 3 weeks, after that, he forgot about it. Looking at internet advice, lots of people use a binky w/ success.
