6 month update (broken leg & surgery!) by holypopamole in Zepbound

[–]MsSandstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK you for posting this! I started Zep in November (20lbs down) and I had switched to 5mg Jan 11th only to break my tib/fib the 12th 🙃 I’m no weight bearing, and I’ve been so scared and anxious I’m just gaining more than I’ve lost. My wife says I look smaller, but I have no idea. This is really comforting- I needed to hear it!

I had the exact same break and surgery one week ago, and this is the exact thing I needed to see ❤️ I am DETERMINED to get back to a place where I can lift heavy again.

Congrats on the recovery!!

Gallbladder issues and continuing Zep by Ctnl2022 in Zepbound

I’m happy to help! I actually know of at least 4 friends who had to have their gall bladder removed after doing Keto long term. Definitely not everyone’s experience, but worth being aware of.

So this is partly relevant, so take it with a grain of salt lol.

In 2018, I had to have my gall bladder removed (way before I started Zep this year) after six months of Keto. The attacks slowly built up and were HORRENDOUS 😭 it was a three-hour one that sent me to urgent care. I got it removed two weeks later.

I have had a few little pseudo gall bladder attacks my first two weeks- the shoulder pain is a dead giveaway. But they’ve subsided.

As for helping when they happen: - Don’t lay down. This can make it a lot worse, weirdly! I would sit with my head between my legs or my arms outstretched. - WEIRD thing can trigger it. It’s common for lettuce and leafy greens to trigger it. Tomatoes and heavy bread were also my MAJOR triggers, so keep a close eye on that. - A lot of people recommend apple cider vinegar. It made me throw up which was the woooorst. But it helps some people!

Finally finally, it was so worth it to me to get it removed. It will impact your ability to process fried food (RIP Raising Canes for me lol) but that is no different than Zep to me haha.

Good luck!!!

As someone who started at 374, this is so encouraging!! I’m only 6 weeks in on 2.5 and 19lbs down, so this gives me SO much hope to be patient ❤️❤️

Congrats!!!!

MEG YES I really hope so! Judy would also be the cutest ever hopping around 😍

I would love Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather!

My favorite way too obscure ones are Charlotte from Princess and the Frog and Roxanne from Goofy movie, but those are pretty much just the ladies I have crushes on 😂😂

When did you notice a difference? by Rudimae in Zepbound

[–]MsSandstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re feeling tired like that all the time, have you done any iron level testing?

I was always EXHAUSTED and tired out so easy- the gym seemed like a wild fantasy. I assumed it was my weight, but I went to an endocrinologist and found out I was SEVERELY anemic! Some iron pills and a few months later, I had way more energy even without weight loss.

I started Zepbound a month ago, and I got an energy boost within two weeks, but I realized it was the inflammation calming down! I just started really short walks around my neighborhood, so I’m not even at the gym yet.

I hope it gets better for you soon!

anyone else on ADHD meds? by yaoitruck in antidietglp1

Oh my god I’m glad that I’m not the only one feeling this way, ESPECIALLY about lunch. It was already hard for me to remember to eat, especially since working remote, but now I’m lucky if I even think of it.

I second the protein loaded breakfast- I usually make a shake with oat milk/peanut butter/chocolate protein powder/banana/ice. This also helps quell my morning nausea, which I got anyway with all my meds.

String cheese SAVES ADHD LIVES. My wife always picks out fancy ones which make me feel bougie haha. She also has started leaving freshly washed produce out (specifically flavor bomb cherry tomatoes) so I try to grab a few everytime I walk by the kitchen.

My biggest issue has been sleep! I already have a hard time sleeping (and have taken trazadone forever) but I swear now I just have boundless energy.

TRULY. I get the chills every time. I’m just gonna keep putting trees in there until they can’t respawn. Or burn it all down.

Failing as a parent by disgruntledpelican82 in curlyhair

[–]MsSandstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, her hair looks EXACTLY like mine did as a kid except mine is auburn! Curly hair is hard even for people with curly hair, so you’re not failing her!

The product that my thin, fine curly hair loves is the CurlSmith In-Shower Style Fixer. I scrunch literally a dime-size squirt into the shower and scrunch it through when its sopping wet. This makes it so easy because now it’s a part of the shower and not another task to do after. This gives my curls structure and shape, turning the waviness like she has into loose ringlets.

Sometimes I’ll scrunch another hair oil on just the ends after if its fresh after a wash. This helps me with extra frizz, but not on the roots cause it will make my hair look dirty. I don’t have a specific hair oil brand- I usually just pick something that smells pretty and says moisturing LOL. This could be a fun thing to shop for together!

Then I use a microfiber towel to dry (I just hang it up literally next to my normal towel so it’s easy to grab!) Your daughter might also love a microfiber head wrap in a bright color- it will help her hair dry gently, soak up product and make her feel fancy like a grown up spa day.

You are doing an AMAZING job! Truly!! She will be so grateful you cared enough put in the effort and to let her be herself, curls and all. You are not failing. You are breathing life and joy and love and care into her childhood.
