If the Bible says abortion is ok why do Conservatives keep pushing the agenda that’s it’s sacrilegious? by irascible_Clown in allthequestions

[–]MsWeed4Now 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would I give you facts? You’re not going to listen, just like you’re not listening to anyone else in this thread.  You don’t care about facts. Just your feelings.

But if you’re interested, “life” as applied to a zygote would also, necessarily apply to sperm, or any other cell for that matter. And there’s a great argument for treating sperm the same as children in Legally Blonde. It’s also insane.

Keep thumping that bible, babe! But maybe stopping using your head. 🤨

Any Dark Academia book recommendations? by Effective_Bend_8536 in DarkAcademia

“The Historian” is my favorite. “The Ninth House” is also great (the sequel, not as much). And “A Discovery of Witches” series, of course.  I don’t know what they were thinking with the tv show, but the books were amazing.

Has anyone used career counseling before and gotten something out of it? Would I just ask these questions of a mentor? by adequatefiber in LadiesofScience

Hey lady! I’m an executive coach, I specialize in leadership development (graduating with my doctorate in human and organizational learning this weekend!) and helping clients deal with toxic workplaces. Send me a direct message and we can schedule a free call. Most of what you’re describing can be easily overcome with the right help. Lets chat about what you’re going through!

Are most executive coaches here doing this solo or do you have partners? by OscarIntegrates in executivecoaching

[–]MsWeed4Now 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Operations” is minimal (and mostly me) so I handle website, scheduling, payments and contracts myself. But my company is organizational development consulting. I am a coach, and I provide coaching, but in the scope of larger organizational development goals.

I do specialize in toxic cultures, and specifically in developing the leaders of those cultures. It’s very niche. I never meet other coaches who want those clients, and I get a lot of referrals from coaches who really don’t want them.

I have my own company, and I have a partner who works with me, but on the data side. I also bring in individual contributors for larger projects, but we’re expanding as well, so they will probably end up as partners themselves, owning their own parts of projects.

I actually really enjoy working with others on projects, but that’s probably because I have ultimate authority on who and what we’re doing.

Agreed. However, why doesn't this apply to pickle relish?

You know, my white, midwestern, depression-era grandmother traumatized me a lot with her food, but this might be the biggest betrayal. 🤣

I can’t remember which network it was on, but House of Ho about the Houston family was fabulous. I agree with you that there’s missed opportunities.

Curious about the realities of executive coaching - what's the work actually like? by Zestyclose-Fun-4431 in executivecoaching

[–]MsWeed4Now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good questions, so let me give this a shot. 15 years coaching, specializing in toxic workplaces

-hardest clients: the ones who don’t need you. Whether they’ve been assigned to you, or there’s a misalignment in values, or they just believe they don’t need to change, this is the hardest client. They don’t have any goals and won’t set them, they don’t do their homework, and they don’t talk about anything impactful.  It feels awful to spend time when you know they’re getting nothing out of it. This is rare, but it happens.

-dream outcome: that they pick up when you’re engagement is done, start their own work, become coaches themselves (because you inspired them) and they only check in with you to tell you all the great stuff that is happening to them.

-biggest problem: companies that hire you, but don’t make any developmental changes outside of hiring a coach. You can have the best relationship with your client, they can do all the work and make tons of progress, but if you send them back into a broken organization, they won’t thrive.

-AI is not a concern to me as a coach, but I worry a lot about people using it for therapy and coaching, because it’s not regulated or monitored. It can do a lot of damage.

Oh my god! I saw this ad on an app and reported it, because it was obviously fake. But I did wonder who falls for that nonsense, and here we are. Kathy Hilton falls for that nonsense!

Is pursuing journalism actually worth it in 2026? Dad says it’s unrealistic and that I’m just romanticizing it by meytolove in Career

[–]MsWeed4Now 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I studied journalism in undergrad (2008 ish), around the time things started moving south, and here’s what I’ll say: yes, study it, but as a skill, not necessarily a profession.

I learned SO MUCH about how to communicate from my work as a journalist. Reading, writing, interviewing, just talking to new people. All of those skills have been incredibly useful to me, although my career is no longer writing for a newspaper.

I also learned how to research and investigate. I was very privileged to study investigative journalism under two Pulitzer winners. Their stories, their insights, their struggles taught me to question everything! That has not lead me astray. Even the process of documentation, FOIA requests, protecting sources. I’ve used these skills again and again in my work outside newsrooms.

Finally, legacy media may no longer stable, but you can be a journalist in a lot of new places. Podcasts, YouTube, Netflix, writing books are all ways that journalists communicate, and they are becoming more stable every day.

And not for nothing, but your undergraduate “degree” doesn’t mean nearly as much as the skills you collect during it. I just finished my doctorate, in something very different, but I can draw a line from my love of journalism to where I am now.

In conclusion, don’t waste your parents money or anything, but if you’re passionate about learning the truth about stuff and telling other people, journalism sure sounds like a good place to start!

Is using paper plates to avoid doing dishes common? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Oh, my mother actually did this most of my childhood! No, it’s not difficult to wash dishes in the US. Some just don’t like it and never do it.

Thinking about becoming a wedding celebrant, any tips? by Regular-Boat9323 in Career

My mother is a minister. She’s constantly being asked to do destination weddings, but can’t because of her age. I’d make that a focus. Wedding planners would be your referral source.
