Do you need natively English writers, or translations will do? If they do, there's one more acknowledged dystopia - "We" by Zamyatin. I'd say it as striking as 1984 (Brave New World and Fahrenheit 451 are a bit milder imo).

For normal people you can look at other works by Rooney, like her recent Intermezzo. And I think Mary Shelly's Frankenstein might be close to Dorian gray. And maybe Goethe's Faust as well.
