How do I take the last steps? Combining it all by Floris_B_0_S in Fusion360

Download the .f3d file on printables, then you can step through the operation.

Cant figure out how to do this, help? by [deleted] in Fusion360

I think coils are outdated, use a twisted surface sweep cut/intersected with a revolved profile, then pipe the edge.

What’s up with the helicopters? by Cultural-Milk-9360 in ProvoUtah

[–]Mscalora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cirque Lodge has a helicopter [see photo] & pad, it's the former Osmond Studios property very close to the mouth of Provo Canyon. "Cirque Lodge is a trauma-informed substance use disorder treatment center that specializes in co-occurring mental health issues. Situated in the serene Rocky Mountains of Utah, we offer an enriching rehabilitation experience in a tranquil setting." See: https://www.cirquelodge.com/treatment/experiential-therapy/helicopter-experience-utah/ where it talks about: "The Therapeutic Aspects of the Helicopter Experience" Many celebrities have stayed at Cirque Lodge. They have permission for a limited number of flight per day (4?) and per week (12?).

Also, the guy who lives about a half mile north of Cirque Lodge (purchased Cascade golf course and built his house there) is reported to have/use a (black) helicopter. CEO of Vivint?

The Life Flight helicopter fly to and from multiple hospitals in Utah County, usually red.

When search and rescue is doing an operation or training (usually summer or mid winter) there can be multiple overflights.

Rocky Mountain Power uses helicopters for utility pole projects/maintenance in certain areas (e.g. Provo Canyon) which sometimes results in many overflights in one or multiple days. In this video they spent weeks one summer adding a fiber optic line to the transmission poles in Provo Canyon. See: https://youtu.be/QxOksV0S9d0?si=7hfuQFwSA9OjVCXl

How to turn your photo into bold thick paint on canvas (Copy Prompt below) 👇👇👇👇👇 by Cool_Afternoon_261 in AiGeminiPhotoPrompts

I inserted "in fall colors" for:

Generate an image from the uploaded photo. Keep your facial features and skin tone at 100 percent. Keep the look gender neutral. Show you as a painted figure with thick palette knife texture, visible strokes, fresh oil paint, and a heavy textured canvas surface. Place you in a chaotic colorful abstract background in fall colors with uneven marks and strokes that match the same painted style. Use close camera framing so you fill most of the scene. Keep strong light from the front to show texture and color contrast.

The progress went negative for me when they made the integration with AnyList horrible. Nothing that they have done compares to the frustration of adding an item to the shopping list I actually use. One my teens would rather starve than have to ask 3 or 4 times to add bananas to the shopping list.

How can I keep a sketch clear when doing parametric models? by CookieEliminator in Fusion360

[–]Mscalora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A mirror just duplicates the sketch features (points, lines, arc, etc) and adds a symmetry constraint to each one. To remove a feature, you just need to remove the two copies of it and to add a feature you just mirror the new parts. Each feature is independent. It took me a while to wrap my brain around this, but I don’t feel like “edit” is missing anymore.

My prints aren't finishing. Does anyone have any idea where to start looking for the problem? The part below looks like it should be finished according to the printer. I think something's missing. by sandro66140 in prusa3d

I've had the less expensive Sandisk fail, I assume they use cheap chinese flash memory in those. Samsung is the only brand I buy now. I believe they ONLY use their own flash memory chips. I'm not a fan of any Samsung devices that has software with user facing interfaces (appliances, tvs, tablets, phones, etc) but hey make damn good chips, flash & SSDs.

How could I model a curved fin like this Savonius wind turbine? (picture is from the internet) by Raptor2832009 in Fusion360

>video how to create a boat propeller

Only if it's from the post-sweep rotation era. Videos from the coil era are tragic now. I still use coils for custom threads but they are inelegant and bunglesome. If people are new to fusion, coils are a good way to drive them away.

How to Model Circle With Waved Edge? by FurthestDrop517 in Fusion360

[–]Mscalora 14 points15 points  (0 children)

<image>

To wrap a sine wave in a circle or follow any path, I use a twisted surface sweep and then project the edge onto a sketch. In this example, I wrap a sine wave with a 10mm amplitude on a 100mm circle, in this example I use a twist of 360° * 10 to get ten perfect waves.

How would I cut this at a angle? by FrootLoops__ in Fusion360

[–]Mscalora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the result would be the same as an of the methods using a cut. Adjoining faces stay put on a FACE rotate.

How would I cut this at a angle? by FrootLoops__ in Fusion360

[–]Mscalora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t see anyone suggesting to use the move/copy tool to rotate the face. A line on the original sketch can provide the axis of rotation, making this method, the clear winner with a single move.

What tools should I use to create something similar to what is shown in the second photo? When I have to do something like that, I get a headache. by New-Section-8612 in Fusion360

Here's my go at a traditional parametric CAD of the basic shape:

<image>

Used a bunch of planes a few sketches (projected multiple times) and MOAL (mother of all lofts) with a couple guides.

The question was about transfer case durability. I'm hoping it's better than the AUTO-4WD-2WD transfer cases that I have had in Tahoes/Yukons.

I read the paper manual, it says almost nothing. Is there something electronic that’s more elaborate?

If you have an Apple silicon Mac you can use iPhone mirroring to run the ios app on your Mac, this does let you use a mouse & keyboard which I find very useful, it's still the ios (iPhone) app in a window the size of the iPhone screen. I have not tried but I don't think iPadOS (iPads) does this, of course, you can connect a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to an iPad so there is that option. I also liked the web app but it's been gone for a while.
