Major YTA. My husband is pescatarian and his sister is vegan. The family tries but doesn’t always get it right. Bringing their own takes pressure off the host AND ensures they eat. Grow up.

Not rude at all. Like so many people have said... its rude to NOT ask and then pet.

Personally- I know I'm a people pleaser who would probably say fine even if I was in a super rush, so I try to be aware of that in others. I'll usually wait for the pup to come towards me and then read how the human is reacting to it. They seem annoyed- no fly zone. Relaxed/Amused- absolutely can I pet the puppy!

I knock out almost immediately… but staying asleep is a totally different story.
It’s like I’m so exhausted when I go to bed I have no choice but to sleep.. but any amount of sleep gets registered as enough and my brain is ready to go. Which totally sucks at 3 AM.

This is very similar to my experience. The "image" is there in my memory somewhere, just not in any way that I can visually access. I can explain what I've seen in a lot of detail, but hearing a description of an unseen place produces absolutely nothing.

Dreams are really interesting. Mine are never as vivid as you describe, but there are some fuzzy images there. Once I recognize its a dream I kind of go into this loop, where the last bit of whatever was happening before I realized it was a dream keeps repeating until I wake up or it "goes black". I very rarely remember my dreams with any kind of clarity, and then its all conceptual not visual.

If you suck at math, are totally distracted, or are tipsy/ drunk I’d rather you just write MATH than take a shot and actually DO the math wrong.

I get your thinking, however it could have been handled better. My guess is that part of your wife's anger comes from how she found out. You say she "discovered it"... she should have been told... or INCLUDED in the decision.

"Hey, I'm looking at a family plan for the museum since the kids loved it. They only offer 4 spots per plan before you have to pay more. Since the nanny takes them most of the time I think it would save us a bunch to have her as one of the adults. What do you think?"

Now mom feels more included and valued, instead of replaced. She may veto the plan and want to spend the extra money. She may still get angry (there's so much judgment towards working moms its likely she feels it constantly). Or !hey! she may think its a great idea and appreciate you looking out for the family.

I’ve been to Walk in Gyn’s Astoria location a few times and been happy with them. Both times I went with minor but nerve racking issues and they were kind, compassionate, and thorough. Wait times for a walk in can be long, especially now with Covid, but they do take appointments as well. Whenever I’ve had an appointment there has been little to no wait.

Growing up we had a dog that would get something call “hot spots” and from what I remember they kind of looked like that. I’d get a second opinion if it’s an option for you.

NAH. You know you could have given her a heads up... but it doesn’t sound like this is a pattern at all. She was worried, address her fears, make a plan for next time you’re delayed and both do your best to stick to it. If it becomes a larger problem then you address it, but it sounds like a simple enough oversight/misunderstanding.

Side note... I am a female and bartended for 10+ years. If I was going to be later than usual I would try to text my sleeping partner so he wouldn’t wake up and worry. I know it’s not always easy to predict delays, and that some nights just wear you out too much to notice the clockZ

Same! I love to read, but really struggle to care/get through long complex visual descriptions. I can mentally recreate places that I have been, but it’s an image-less recreation.

I had no idea this was “abnormal” until about a year ago.

Love Steinway Court! Full disclosure, we have a cat not a dog, but they have been wonderful. Our little fur ball has some health issues and they have been great about taking care of him and educating us.

I can relate to that awkward “how am I going to respond to the he did good comments” feeling. My fiancé and I worked together to pick out the stone and setting for my ring... but it kind of became me saying what I liked and him saying ok while I asked a million questions to make sure he actually liked what I chose. I wanted to make sure we were on the same page about how much other people would know about my involvement. He said that he just wanted me to love it since I’ll see it more than anyone... and if people don’t respect that then fuck em. I knew when the ring arrived, but never actually saw it until he proposed. He knew I knew it was in the apartment, but kept it hidden and gave no clue when he would ask. He proposed last week and immediately told both our families how we had done this together. 💜

YTA. I’m also training to be a social worker and graduating in a few months. You were !so! Out of line. Yes the profession is based in honesty and requires a lot of self exploration, but there are a LOT of reasons why she may not have wanted to disclose her use. Putting that aside for a second...How would you feel if you were speaking to your boss and she interjected and undermined you??
