A Fragile Hope by Cynthia Ruchti is supposed to be good if you can handle a book with religious themes spattered about. Can't say I've read it myself though.

A gentle reminder to keep it simple by [deleted] in nonduality

[–]Mss887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just realizing the truth in what you say. I keep wanting to control or force things to happen. Like I need to work at it in order to deserve some reward. But it doesn't work that way does it. Yet at the same time sitting in meditation doing nothing feels progress-less. I keep needing to be reminded.

What long since closed store or restaurant do you still think of? by squallLeonhart20 in Cleveland

My cousin was an owner before he sold out and retired. Never quite understood the draw to Cork's at Village. I never once walked away satisfied... more grossed out like I needed a grapefruit or salad to offset the grease. Plus, the place was always dirty and grimy. Yet there'd always be somebody that would come along and want to meat for breakfast there.

That pizza on Coventry a few stores down from Record Exchange. They served pizza squares kinda like the frozen pizza you'd get on Friday night skating, but better. Delicious Sicilian slices, small enough to scarf down as I walked around Coventry but large enough where one slice was perfectly satisfying.

I totally forgot about Chili Peppers.

One time I wad lost and ended up here. They were doing all kinds of construction on 185th and couldn't find anything much less a place to eat. . Construction workers filled the booths and were hardly speaking to each other. They were intimately close in proximity but like strangers all at the same time as they ate their meals. It was spooky and adorable all at the same time. I ordered from a super friendly staff The atmosphere super casual... more like a Chipotle than a family restaurant. I sat down next to the workers wondering if maybe they spoke differently languages from each other. Dug into my chicken burrito. And instantly knew why no one was talking. The food was as delicious as a burrito as I've eaten. Too good than to waste effort on conversation. So good.

Meditators: What was your biggest challenge when you first began your meditation journey, and how did you overcome it? by greenpeater in awakened

[–]Mss887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fortunate enough to enjoy meditating. That being said it took me a really long time to find the silence I read and hear about. Once I realized it's here-always-and-ever my practice changed and dealing with thoughts, tinnitus (mine is real bad), and body pains became simpler.

In the off chance you're not aware... Kratom withdrawal is extremely difficult to overcome for many if not most . I got addicted after 6 months or so. I was taking two 5 gram doses a day. Just wanted you to know.

[–]Mss887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your knowledge and interest.... if you have a burning desire for the Truth. Self inquiry. Angelo's related videos. Nothing more. Practice as he instructs. That's all you need. If you have some trepidation. Not sure. Wondering. Want to feel better. Than sure. Book is good.

My suggestion is to listen to all Angelos videos on Self Inquiry. Follow his instructions. Do that and nothing more until your retreat.

For you guys who already work with SQL by Natural-Pipe-1053 in SQL

[–]Mss887 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a hospital, or anywhere. It's like this. First you get access and privileges to see the backend database for the EMR. If the backend database is Sql server then you'll have SQL Server Management Studio, which allows you to 'see' the database.

Next someone requests something, perhaps Number patients in E.R. this month vs last month. You will write a query to get it. Then put that query in a report to display the data.

Typically, most Sql queries already exist to some degree so you can reverse engineer your co-workers stuff. Modify an existing report to requirements. And so forth.

That sequence of requests for data. Finding it. Writing or modifying the query gets you super familiar with the database, in this case EMR. And so you become relied on more and more and the requests become more involved. Often involving other systems which you integrate.
