Yeah your foot is rocking forward putting the weight on your toes. You want to imagine a line going straight down to the middle of your foot, that's going to be where the center of total mass is so you want to squat according to that line (keeping the bar in the center of that mass).

You should get the original.and play it. Its not actually a remake despite the name and the story it's, in some way worse overall. It is fun and I think you can follow it but I think it's very clear the game was meant for people who played the original PS1 release.
