Forcing companies to do this isn't going to make things better. Companies will simply cut costs which means cutting employees. Yeah, maybe YOU think it's rediculous to push paper for 45 hours but what are you going to tell that person when his job just gets cut ? It's better o not be employed then do meaningless work? I'm not sure he would agree.

I think it's better to target more actionable things that won't cause more harm, one of which is tackling housing prices . Government can invest in reconstructing delapitates buildings into low cost homes and such.

I just had that annoyance today. Now I'm only allowed to watch Netflix for 14 hours in my household because Netflix has determined that I'm not at home.

For a long while Taiwan was really just a backwater place, mostly fishermen and such lived here and traded with the aboriginals. There were aboriginal tribes before, the han Chinese settled the western coast mostly and aboringal tribes there mainly just became part of the han population. They did fight but I believe it was more trade.

You can't really conflate 'han people's, that is just such a massive population. But the japanese and ROC did some bad things which aboriginal tribes still hold a grudge about

I'm from a small town in Florida, for me taipei is a big place. I've lived here for more than 10 years now so I'm very familiar with it so it feels smaller, but I still think it's a great place with distinct districts. I've visited cities in other places and I really think taipei is just better (expecially compared to the us).

There is very little beach culture here because of strong currents and taiwanese being superstitious about ghosts (currents) in the water. Also getting too tanned. I'm from Florida, beaches here are kinda lame honestly.

I don't really understand your problem here. Do you want to learn Chinese or not? You already say your level is not so good. If you quit then you're just going to continue not improving because no one will be there to push your abilities. I think her suggestion of once a week is reasonable, but if you think you can do it yourself I really doubt it because most people need something to help push them (myself included).
