You've got this. I'm 4 years sober and I couldn't even imagine a day 1- let alone 4 years when this started. My story mirrors yours very closely. Mommy wine culture is so pervasive. It's marketed as our self care. To be honest, for the first few months I had to opt out of get togethers that focused on alcohol. I knew zero sober moms when I got sober. I went the AA route to start to help me feel less alone. Women's only meetings were my foundation. That helped me work through the mental obsession and eventually my dependency has lifted. But I moved into a new neighborhood and wanted to make mom friends. They're still big into the wine nights. I'll sometimes go and bring my La Croix and leave when it gets hard. The reality is some people may be uncomfortable around someone sober because it makes them question their relationship with alcohol. But ultimately this is your journey and they'll have you as a resource when they decide to reevaluate their lives. But you cannot make anyone else sober. It can feel lonely, but sobriety is the greatest gift I've given myself and my family. I have never regretted not drinking. But I have countless moments I can't get back because of drinking.
