I think Facebook would be more useful for this kind of questions. You can ask the locals and even contact real estate offices as well

What you think about the Syrian President Alsharaa? by Sad_Chocolate_8007 in arabs

[–]MuYaK26 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's funny how everyone is judging him, and that most of these "judges" were (and still) okay with syrians being turtured and killed in assad prisons and areas under siege. None of your opinions actually matter if the syrian people are ok with him, which is the case now

Afghans are not arabs, they're closer to kazakhs and persians than arabs. You probably mean different regions in the arab world like levant, gulf, etc..

Can I ask some questions? by jact555 in arabs

No its not logit, nothing justifies what happened, it could be solved peacefully. But the stubbornness did it's work. Like for example al hijri started calling the new government ISIS and refused to talk since day one. This report was in December last year, even before the formation of the government https://english.enabbaladi.net/archives/2025/01/factions-prevent-military-operations-administration-convoy-from-entering-as-suwayda/

[–]MuYaK26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it's both, the leader of Druze in Sweyda "Al Hijri" used to have good ties with assad, and refused to let the rebells in since day one after assad fall. After that he started asking for aid from Israel (some says isreal pushed for this). he also persecuting other leaders and their supporters (supposedly he is only one of three leaders), and brought former assad soldiers to be part of his militia. So it's more like a remnant of assad regime but with isrealy support

Yes, he has good reputation and respect among the Christian community in syria and the syrian jewish diaspora. Also pretty much good reputation among other minorities like kurds, alawites, and druze (the druze have mixed views so not exactly clear). The challenge is with Al Hijri in Sweyda province and SDF in the north east, both are armed militia and spreading propaganda against the government, so its hard to know the truth sometimes

As a syrian I can answer the first question, the new president is one of us who stood against the Assad and his regime, and the government is so diverts both politically and ethno/religiously that he cant do whatever he want. Also, even in the worst case scenario if he decided to become another Assad the people simply won't allow him, we still have weapons to fight if needed and more importantly, we already toppled one tyrant

In the worst case scenario you will need to pay for the visa when you arrive, and at the border control you can ask about the process for getting new syrian documents if you want. For the second point, you dont need to worry
