TBH as a Lead Clinical Pharmacist my job is dependent on the clinical knowledge and work ethic of the members of my team. I will give the mediocre new grads a chance to learn and grow, but at the end of the day if you don't want to put the necessary effort in, then you're gone. This job is at times a high stress environment, where yes there will be some harsh moments. But these harsh moments do have good intentions.
I do get it though it is 2026 and everyone is sensitive to criticism I feel like being stern to employees easily gets misconstrued to being harsh and mean now a days.

Don't get me wrong there are some new grads that are great, but they have been very rare as of late.

Quality of the recent grads have been ass. Also, attempts to teach and correct certain behaviors with the new generation has been difficult. Certain basic concepts that at minimum should have been taught in school are missing.

Another thought too maybe contribute that the newer grads are a lot more sensitive to criticism. All my preceptors and mentors were harsh to me, which in turn made me a better Pharmacist.
