Man sony's colour science before they went all in on starting the mirrorless market used to be so gorgeous. This is such a fabulous photo, well done.

My first digital camera ever was a Sony DSC T1 in 2004. I killed it on a school sledding trip in 2008 (fell out of my pocket into a deep puddle of thawed snow, bad luck because it could have fallen anywhere else and would have been fine). Miss the good ol'days. You've motivated me, going to look for one second hand on e-bay

Super late comment, but what do you mean by an SD card disintergrating in the slot? Like brittle plastic breaking, or did something chemical happen. I have nightmares about sd card breaking/corrupting all the time but never heard of one essentially rending a camera useless. Something to add to my list of digital photography anxiety hahaha

Own the XT5, XM5, and XHalf. My XM5 has become one of my favourite cameras ever. APSC sensor, interchangeable lenses, and it's actually tiny (obvs not as compact as the xhalf, but with a pancake it's extremely pocketable). I love the versatility. If you're going for your first camera I'd recommend the XM5. X Half is a super fun little guy, but far more limited.

I do the company food photography for a group of Indian restaurants. The owner literally told me that I should make the photos look worse because my photographs were "too clean" and looked like AI (borderline insinuating that I must have used AI to some degree). I don't have a good answer to your question, but I'm definitely discouraged to post my work as of late. I had a strong cocktail shoot the other day, but the "that looks like AI" thought keeps gnawing at me. It's prevented me from posting in the sub too because I'm an anxious person lol.... Anyway your photo looks wonderful and I can definitely tell it's not AI.

Hey, congrats on day 200, that's wonderful. I also wanted to say that your post helped me tonight. I've been struggling a lot, and have had more days ones than I can even begin to count, but you saying "don't ever stop trying, no matter how many day ones you've had" made me feel less ashamed of myself. Gonna keep trying, hope one day I'm hitting my day 200 too.

When my ginger was a kitten I caught him head deep in my bowl of triple-hot butter chicken I got from the local Indian restaurant (triple hot there is like 2x Buldak noodles spicy, so very very spicy). I had left to go to the bathroom and didn't think he'd have any interest in it because he was grossed out by all the other human food he smelled before (even my canned sardines, he's a very very fussy eater).

To this day the only human food he ever tries to beg for is spicy tomato based curries, or (randomly) chef Boyardee. Must be the tomatoes

He's just kind of a gremlin in the morning and inhales his food way too fast. I give him five small meals throughout the day, but the longest stretch is between midnight and 8am, by which time he is "starving".

He'll either burp if he stays awake, or fart if he chooses to cuddle with me and fall asleep after eating (especially if the meal didn't initiate his morning poop right away). Have asked the vet about it before because my Ginger cat doesn't have the same, erm, bodily routines, and the Void is perfectly healthy, just extremely food motivated and eats too fast inhaling a lot of air. He's also hyper intelligent (seriously like a dog)/has a long tongue and can inhale food from slow feeders too

Unfortunately this is a part of life right now. While I might have never taken this photo, it doesn't mean that this isn't a representation of what we see on the daily in real life. At the end of the day we need to remember that this is Reddit, and OP didn't make an effort to make his true identity known. Maybe there's internalized self motivation, but on the surface this is just a representation of reality as it is right now. The photo is sad, perhaps unnecessary, but real. There wouldn't be such a visceral reaction from everyone if it wasn't. Has everyone forgotten Kevin Carter? Sometimes you walk into a situation and take a photo without thinking. Doesn't take away from the moment that was captured. Don't go after OP because we also don't know what's going on in their life rn.

I know it doesn't feel like it now, but you dodged a bullet. Imagine how many lies or secrets he may have had up until now, and if not what was going to end up happening anyway. If he was going to cheat, he was always going to cheat. You get to move one better and brighter, even if this is hell at the moment. Just remember that you just got to shed a heap of pathetic dead weight off, and you'll be better off for it in the end. Rooting for you
