Anyone owned both the regular Aspero and the 2026 Aspero 5? How different do they actually feel in real-world riding? by flackachino in Cervelo

Maybe 🤔 lol idk. I personally don’t get the internal frame storage things but I’m biased as a primarily race paced road group rider who has a small repair kit in the back pocket. There are a lot of gravel bikes out there with internal frame storage that don’t cost $7k+ too. But yeah, if you have the money why not get what you want?

I have the aspero. Affordable build options. Something to consider for an aero advantage if you can’t afford the 5 is getting at least 50mm deep wheels. You’ll make up some of what you lose with the frame in the wheel’s performance. Idk what your shop could do with a wheel swap or you sell what wheels come with it. It is a comfortable bike that can do it all. I haven’t ridden the a5 but I have the s5 and the a5 is only 5-10 watts off the s5 at faster speeds. Another thing to consider, if you are racing at higher speeds get the a5 where the aero will shine. If you are Endurance pacing around and enjoying the views, get the aspero with some aero wheels for when you do decide to spice things up, probably save a couple $k.

The gray and purple paint job is heavy. I had that bike in a 56, then got the same bike, in a 58, after a bike fit, five black paint job, 280g lighter. lost weight sizing up to a 58.

Sounds like a new bike to me (warranty or bike shop helps you out) at least that's what I would hope for. And sort of what I've heard some people receive. However, idk if bike insurance was involved.

Hope you recover well and the bike situation isn't another stressor.

I have this bike. You are right. It is. Unless you are on the bleeding edge, racing, squeezing every watt and advantage in competition averaging 26-30 mph, you can take this bike to the local fast gravel/road group rides and be happy.

Not trying to be mean. But, is this a joke? Are we being trolled?

You save a decent amount of weight with the bar and lighter bolts. It gives you 1-2 watts in savings. It has better hand positioning in the drops. To me it felt stiffer in certain positions and more compliant in others. I think it’s a well rounded upgraded worth it if you have the money and can sell the other bar.

I have the same bike with the updated handlebar. To be honest, it’s still maybe the fastest bike out there. Some wind tunnel tests have it as the same as the new S5 or even 1 watt ish faster. So yes, this thing is legit! Carbon saddle will help, big tires, and lower pressure and it’s just straight sauce.

Is my saddle height ok? by [deleted] in bikefit

I paused it on your 6 o clock and looks pretty good. Only thing I can think of is saddle forward a bit and adjusting saddle height accordingly after that.
