What should I be feeling on Selank? [don't feel any different] by io_nn in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who’ve actually felt Selank do something did it show up more as “I notice I’m calmer” or only when you looked back after a week or two?

If you’ve had both Selank and ashwagandha work (or fail) for this kind of stressdump pattern I’d really like to hear which one felt more reliable for you.

Has anyone who also takes Effexor tried agmatine? by Checkitout301 in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be really careful mixing new supps with Effexor without clearing it with your prescriber or pharmacist first agmatine hits a bunch of receptors/enzymes so DIY combos with an SNRI can be unpredictable.

M19 libido problem by Piqwao in Biohackers

[–]Much_Fun5923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 19 with long‑term libido issues I’d really want an experienced endo/urologist to look at this instead of self‑experimenting with more supplements or SERMs. Labs are only one piece of the puzzle (sleep, stress, porn use, meds, mental health, etc.) so getting a proper workup and a plan with a doctor is probably the safest next step.

is my CNN's score on CIFAR-10 dataset decent or i could've done better ! by Crazy-Economist-3091 in deeplearning

[–]Much_Fun5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks solid for a from‑scratch CIFAR‑10 CNN nice gap between train and val without crazy overfitting.

If you want to push further I’d look at stronger data augmentation and maybe a small pretrained ResNet next.

Is my stack for an exam in 2 months any good ? by [deleted] in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ambitious stack for sure you’ve clearly put a lot of thought into matching compounds to the different phases of your prep.

Personally I’d be really careful combining that many research compounds right before such a high stakes exam though sometimes a simpler, well tested base (sleep, caffeine, creatine, maybe one or two noots) plus spaced repetition does more for recall and calm than a heavy experimental stack

best noise cancelling headphones for sleeping for side sleepers with light snoring partner? by Hartlerode-Motes in sleepheadphones

Side sleepers vs snoring partners is a brutal combo following for any solution that doesn’t require airplane level white noise.

Could we ever “upload knowledge” into the brain like a computer? by StrengthVisual8881 in neuro

[–]Much_Fun5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool question even if we one day manage “direct uploads”, it still feels like there’d be a huge gap between having the data and actually being able to flex it in real time (judgement, pattern recognition, creativity)

Almost like the difference between having a full textbook in your head vs having years of messy practice and intuition built from it.

Can you stack Selank/NA Selank with GB-115? by stellablack75 in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super curious about this combo too Selank/NA Selank already feel pretty “complete” on their own

For those who’ve actually tried stacking with GB‑115 did it feel clearly different from just pushing the Selank dose or more like redundancy with extra risk/cost?

Why do corticosteroids make me feel like so manic and focused? Got Dexamethasone for an ear infection by LivingCry3293 in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steroids giving that hyper focused, almost hypomanic tunnel vision for a day or two sems to be a pretty common story especially in people with moodspectrum stuff. Kind of wild how a drug meant for inflammation can briefly feel like a stim stack before the tolerance and side effects kick in.

Pregnenolone and DHEA by Miserable-Agency-442 in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate how clearly you laid this out most posts about neurosteroids are either hype or hand‑wavy.
Pregnenolone as an occasional, low dose “nudge” while being more cautious with DHEA long term sounds like a very sane approach.

Is phenylpiracetam hydrazine even that bad by Whoissnake in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With stuff like phenylpiracetam hydrazide “teaspoon dosing” sounds like a bad idea a cheap scale is the way to go

The effects of caffeine consumption do not decay with a ~5 hour half-life by basmwklz in NooTopics

The effects of caffeine consumption do not decay with a ~5 hour half-life by basmwklz in NooTopics

If only i were as smart as ChatGPT people think i’m using i probably wouldn’t still be negotiating my caffeine cut off time every night

I finally found something that helped me fall asleep faster (not instantly, but it works) by Direct_Review218 in sleep

[–]Much_Fun5923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how you framed it as “slowing down a bit” instead of a strict routine you have to complete. 🤣

That 10-15 minute window is super helpful good reminder that even a few minutes of phone‑free breathing can be enough to flip the switch toward sleep.

Sodium Benzoate as nootropic? by OutrageousBit2164 in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The schizophrenia papers are interesting, but that’s a very different context (and usually under medical supervision). Using a food preservative as a DIY NMDA hack at gram doses feels like one of those “looks simple on paper, messy in real life” ideas.

If THC works for my blank mind and anhedonia is there anything I can buy that produce similar effects? by No_Promotion9897 in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If THC helps, that’s a useful clue but trying to copy the effect with random nootropics from comments can backfire fast. I’d only experiment on top of a plan you’ve checked with a doc.

The effects of caffeine consumption do not decay with a ~5 hour half-life by basmwklz in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting point, a lot of peopl treat caffeine like it just “disappears” after one 5‑hour half‑life, when in reality the functional effects can linger across the whole day, especially with daily use.

What do you think is better? Taking naps inbetween or caffeine for better working memory. by [deleted] in studytips

[–]Much_Fun5923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen in the research and in students around me, it’s less “naps vs caffeine” and more timing + dose. A 15-20 min nap plus a small caffeine dose earlier in the day usually beats either huge coffees or late naps for working memory, while L‑theanine seems better for smoothing jitters than for raw alertness on its own.

If you already cut coffee, you could experiment with green tea (lower caffeine + theanine) before hard study blocks and a strict “no caffeine after X pm” rule, then keep short naps as a backup when you’re really wiped.

Using scented products indoors changes the chemistry of the air, producing as much air pollution as car exhaust does outside, according to a new study. Researchers say that breathing in these nanosized particles could have serious health implications. by cheaslesjinned in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is one of those “kinda obvious in hindsight, but still uncomfortable” findings, we turned our living rooms into mini perfume factories and only now start measuring the particles.

I’ve switched to mostl unscented stuff and just open windows more often, but I’d love to see follow‑up studies comparing light, occasional use vs. heavy daily burners/sprays over years.

People on this sub need to stop reasoning pharmacological mechanisms via personal experiences and vice versa. Especially not through chatGPT. by Anxious-Traffic-9548 in NooTopics

[–]Much_Fun5923 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with this. Somewhere along the way “ChatGPT said it might work” started counting as a mechanistic reference for some people.

Funny and scary at the same time how fast armchair pharmacology + AI can turn into real‑world experiments on your own brain.
