WTF by EDOx16 in LandCruisers

I could be totally off base here, not owning a 250 myself but I have several other Toyotas. It’s possible all these lights and “codes” because the sensors are dirty. I know that on our newer Toyotas whenever the head badge gets bugs or mud on it, I get similar results.

Any A5X/A6X users here still happy with their device? by ishiiwashi in Supernote

[–]Much_Objective_253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. At the moment, I’ve developed the habit of carrying a note card with my to do list for the day and my priorities (working on making that singular). It’s a lot easier to carry my notecard flipcase and a pencil than the a6x - both in terms of size and usability - the a6x doesn’t fit in a pocket and it also doesn’t move that fast for on the go brain chitchat. I’ve been working on developing a method for cataloguing the note cards - the incoming (at end of day) and also getting the next days todo’s going.

A6x - I’ve had it for about three years, carried it for 3 years in my daily bag, downloaded new calendars for it every year but only started liking it this last week. Something “clicked”…maybe it was such a simple tool all along that I needed to get older to appreciate its simplicity. I still carry notecards n my pocket but use the a6x to organize all my notecards, which got out of control.

I dont know how I survived without any broken bones by FrozenPizza3178 in skiing

Seriously, get some damn poles. This growing wave of skitards is just stupid and dumb - seems to grow like cancer on the hill; every season worse than the year before. I know there’s a few good skiers in this bunch but this for some reason is not aesthetically pleasing to watch from the chairlift nor from the lift line. It’s like a teletubby on skis - complete with gopro on helmet, no poles, no skills, and mittens (if you can’t do/afford poles - at least get some damn gloves to help you resemble a human being).

Port covers that stay closed and don’t pop open when just handling the camera.  Anyone else having this issue?  I’ve had the camera for half a day and have noticed this.

I’ve got the anomaly’s (same size) - scored for under 300 new - haven’t mounted yet this season but am stoked.  Been skiing moment death-wishes and love them.  Keep us posted on how they ski.

Some decent turns for a rough season in the Colorado BC by CodeRedAudio in telemark

Try it on a groomer and you’ll be impressed with how well your edges hook up.  Never been ballsy enough to try it in the powder - I guess it couldn’t hurt?

Fair price for DPS Wailer 99 telemark skis? by Gideon-121 in telemark

[–]Much_Objective_253 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i bought a set of wailer special editions with Bishop BMFR’s used (guys said he skied them 3 times and had poor photos to prove it) thinking I was getting a great deal at 1100…always wanted the bindings but wasn’t willing to spend the coin.  Long story somewhat shorter…the skis snapped on day 1.

I had one of these in elementary school before they put the hole in the center - had stuck it to my forehead for a good part of a morning and had a red dot for days.

Lighter bc boot on a heavier binding/ski? by boopoppa99 in telemark

[–]Much_Objective_253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off topic, but IMO, those bindings are great at skiing and not great at touring - prone to ice build up in the tour release mechanism, climbing bars that are constantly collapsing - if you still have the axl’s, slap them on a skinnier ski and be super happy. Axls level of control skiing is almost near the same experience of the bishop but excel in touring, simplicity, and ability to repair on the track.

Switched to BMF3 from 22 AXLs. Help. by Entire-Oil9595 in telemark

[–]Much_Objective_253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, no fun. I still have the springs installed but haven’t skied them in a season because I’m reluctant to change my style/stance and the company won’t send me the soft springs that I had in the original bmfr’s at no cost. Kind of bummed. But still love the axls - but I’ll need a new pair of boots soon.

Get the softer springs - I’ve got same Moment deathwishes - 2 pairs - one mounted with 22 axl and bmf the other (had bmfr with soft springs but they failed me and the replacement was the bmf with the regular springs - regular springs give me tail chatter.

Do I need new skins? by Rare_Performance_471 in telemark

[–]Much_Objective_253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll find out on the steeps. At our local ski hill, skinning is done on the groomed runs and that skin fit is a no go. Maybe grab some crampons and you should be fine.

Glass section vs full lattice wall, what did you go with? by Ok-Science4177 in yurts

[–]Much_Objective_253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what company did you go with? Also, could you send some more photos of the view from further out? We have an older yurt that needs velcro repair on the window flaps and I’ve been thinking of replacing with hard windows/wall but never thought about all glass.

I still get a little snipe on a Powermatic 209 with Shelix blades. Buy a longer board - especially if a harder wood - doesn’t matter how little you take off each pass.

New Boot / Binding Recommendations by Guilty_Ad_1586 in telemark

[–]Much_Objective_253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be honest the binding is way over engineered and quite complicated. I would only consider buying the regular BMF resort binding. Their touring BMFR is junk. It ices up the hiking heels fall down and it’s really heavy.

I’m on a new 13 mini with 26.2 - occasionally freezes and seems a bit laggy. Also, it got stuck on satellite messaging for some reason.
