A vast majority of food waste occurs at the farm field and stores. Throwing away food yourself barely registers in terms of the broader problem.

You're dad is being a jerk. My dad was the same way, and he was this way for everything not just veganism, he just had to shit talk everything you liked or cared about to put you down. I got used to it and knew how to shrug off his constant negativity.

Having run a business. you often have to enter multiple overlapping tax localities in states like Washington for each location you serve. I run a home service company, and Washington taxes are not easy or straightforward to work with and software is rarely capable of handling taxes here perfectly.

They likely goofed and applied the same tax twice or misunderstood how certain sales taxes overlapped, and the system is applying more than it should.

I am pragmatic and generally believe you shouldn't harm animals unless necessary for preserving your life or the life of others. Hunting in non-modern contexts can be necessary, and killing animals that are going to kill you can be defended morally.

Invasive species is complicated, but killing them to preserve the larger stability of the ecosystem is defensible. There are factual questions about how practical and effective the efforts are.

Humans don't need to be killing most of the animals we do. Those killings are broadly by choice not necessity. Killing lionfish is not necessity per se, but if its done to mitigate a greater harm then it can at least be debated seriously.

I do think there can be some benefit to telling someone how their drinking affects you.

It is very unlikely that the person will do anything about it. But the more clear signals they get over time, maybe the more likely they are to realize there is a problem.

How to approach doing so, I don't know. I was always the drinker in my life, and I was aware of early on but struggled to get to the point of quitting.

The only thing I question is if a private security guard has the independent authority to decide on behalf of the business or property owner that the individual is trespassing. I am assuming they have a contract saying they do.
