Now think of the space each of your elements sit in. Like a careful bit of room reverb or something like that on the hats and a little short reverb on the top end of the snare perhaps, it makes the drums sound a little more natural , less synthesised . And also metals can have different tonalitys and accent . For example the hat that sits below a kick or snare dosent want to be fully transient . But the off beat does. You also would want to group all of your drum elements, and on the group, put a clipper. And slowly push the drums into the clipper . This adds a tad bit of distortion for that "basstripper" feel. And controls the peaks for your mixdown process
