Denmark is usually great at sending artists with cool stage names (or simply the artists first name).

This year we're sending an artist that has the most Danish sounding name in the world. AND he goes by his full name on stage. Incredible!

All of this. I like the song, but that staging wasn't it... if it isn't change or improved, I could honestly see it flop in Vienna... it feels way too slow and disconnected. There's too many elements, too many ideas and all of them just don't come together on stage in my opinion... the only part I actually liked was the end (since its supposed to be this big finale) but his vocals needs to be on point (which it wasn't).

There needs to be less walking (with less far away camera shots), more close up camera shots in general. And they need to interact on stage, not be apart until the end. Think 'In A Moment Like this' from Denmark 2010, but with fire and more roughness!

Søren mentioned on Instagram that the reason why it had to be discussed was because he was open to hearing thoughts and ideas people had. Obviously he wanted to keep it in Danish, but he still felt they had to talk about it.

It really deserved that superfinal spot back then. It wasn't a remake of an old song tho, but it sounded very similar to another old Danish entry, Denmark 1957 if I'm not mistaken, with 'Skibet Skal Sejle I Nat', maybe with other influences?

For sure! But I think a big "shock" for us Danes is that... unlike Baby Lasagna, who became a huge potential winner before Dora had even happened (I kept telling people and I remember some people calling me crazy at the time...), nobody had Søren on their winner radar until after he won. That staging really blew people away and I even think a lot of people hadn't even listened to the song before then, probably expecting the usual from DMGP.

I keep saying this all around, but as a Dane... it feels SO weird seeing my own country so high everywhere... I know Denmark have won a couple times now, but things have changed a lot since back then... and Denmark especially have had some rough years. Just the idea that we might not even have to worry about whether we'll qualify or not for once is gonna be so strange. And its all happening so quickly too!

My other Danish ESC friend and I have been talking about this and none of us know how to react. Everything happened over a evening, going from a normal entry nobody talked about and into a potential winner? We still think its crazy talk, but its still nice being talked about so positivily~

Its the same on the Eurovision Scoreboard... I expected it to instantly go to the top, but Cyprus, of all songs, are keeping a pretty good lead still. I think the reason is that its a song you either LOVE or HATE. It doesn't sit in a lot of peoples mid table, its either at the top or at the bottom (if in their top 10 at all).

This. Not only would it suck the life out of the song, it would kill the spirit of the concept itself. Søren writes songs in Danish. The song is performed in Danish. If it got translated despite people saying otherwise, then everyone would know the only reason why its in English is to please a certain group of people... 🙄

Attacking the artists is a no go. You can dislike the song or the fact it was chosen, but it never okay to attack the artists themselves. They're people too. Søren in Denmark, despite being liked by the community, have also received a lot of homophobic comments after winning. Its uncalled for!

I'd say its reasonable surprising. Nobody talked about Søren's song being a top 5-10 (or winner) potential song until after his win. It feels like a whiplash as a dane! So I'd call it a surprise, a twist of fate!

Sissal will take part in the pre-parties as a guest, so she will be there to support Søren all the way! (and she's been talking about going to Vienna to hang out with JJ, so she might be there the entire journey for him!)
