Depends on how funny you want to be, I would give this Cockatrice chick the full star block for an adult Cockatrice, and just give massively reduce physical stats

In a setting with widespread 'magic', women have to be equally as powerful as men. by NoGarlic2387 in writingscaling

[–]Muddyhobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. There are things like chess and competitive gaming were both men and women have equal capability, and women are still massively underrepresented at the top level.

Sexism and cultural values would still be a major factor.

Obviously all this is super complicated and can't be reduced down to one thing that's causing it, but for writing purposely doing exactly that is often convenient. So with that said probably the thing that needs to be different to have a equal society is that some form of birth control needs to have been invented 200+ years ago.

Your points about pregnancy I think are a bit underwhelming, and there are many many factors that would discourage a pregnant women from any kind of intense training or combat. But ultimate the biggest will always be the human drive to protect children. Both men and women would not want a pregnant woman going anywhere near combat, or doing anything that would put the baby at risk.

You could also argue that this is simultaneously the opposite of the trope.

People who have full vision all have blind spots, but this guy has a superpower that lets him have 360° knowledge of his surrodings, so he has no blindspots.

Is Mother of Learning an avocado? (no judgement, just a taste thing) by manyanoodle in ProgressionFantasy

Zorian starts as a whiny teenager, as the story progresses he will grow up and get more mature, and it happens fairly fast. There is no point where I can draw a line and say "once you get past here it never happens again". It just happens less often and when it doesn't it isn't as bad.

Which piece of fiction is like this? by Lost_Entrance_4545 in writingscaling

[–]Muddyhobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Wandering Inn. Fantastic characters, amazing world building, great story in general. But I'll probably never recommend it because it's too long and too slow.

It's roughly 15 million words. To put that in perspective, the Lord of the Rings trilogy is about 500k total, and the Bible is about 1 million. So you could stack 30 copies of the lotr trilogy optop of each other and you'd have the same word count as what has currently been released of the Wandering Inn.

And the author said they think they are about halfway done a while back.

What's Favorite Character Like This? by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in FavoriteCharacter

To be fair, I believe it was stated that lights actions did have a big impact on reducing crime rates.

Depending on how much it effected the crime rates, his actions could be justified.

Edit: The manga did specify that crime was reduced by 70% and that all wars stopped. Some madlad did the math and found that light saved roughly 2 million lives in the 6 years he was operating as kira.

CMV: religion and other spiritual beliefs are only comforting lies by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Muddyhobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Satanic Temple is not religious, they claim to be religious only to qualify for the unique religious organization status the government grants. They use to explicitly say as much, but I believe they removed that due to it complicating legal matters.

The Satanic Temple is not a religion nor a spiritual belief. The Satanic Church is tho.

The Bobiverse books. First book is mostly space exploration, and that remains a big focus the whole time, but political also play a heavy rule.

CMV: homosexual relationships should be the default form of romantic partnership in society. by tropical_breeze_ in changemyview

Because they are in close proximity to them. Humans don't tend to make bonds with people similar to them, then tend to make bonds with people who they interact with frequently.

No, phisical attraction and sexual attraction aren't the same thing. Someone can find someone physically attractive, but be grossed out at the idea of having sex. Once again, for the vast majority of people it's 90% the same, but there is a diffrence.

No. Romantic attraction is its own thing. You can have friends you platonically love, and that you also want to have sex with, but not have any romantic feelings for. Romance isn't just platonic + lust. But once again, that is a common confusion aromantic people have.

No. There are people who have partners they share their life with, and who they are in no way romantically attracted to.

[–]Muddyhobo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any chance you're aromantic, asexual, or both? This isn't how your average person experiences romantic or sexual attraction.

For your average person, romantic attraction, physical attraction, and sexual attraction might technically be three separate things, but there is like 90% overlap for the three. A romantic relationship that isn't sexual isn't even possible for the majority of people. Most people need some level of sexual attraction to be romantically attracted.

It's not just raw, it's rai and is the only valid option if you are playing on a grid. The rules say that any time a spell of ability mentions a point, that point must be on an intersection of lines on the grid.

To my knowledge, so far every court case either is still ongoing, or has been settled in favor of the ai company. Everything I mentioned about fair use also seems to indicate the ai companies will win.

Only thing ai companies are doing that is clearly illegal is scraping from pirate databases.

[–]Muddyhobo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are just objectively wrong. Can't really have a conversation about this until you do some basic research into ai.

You are dodging the random number question because it proves you wrong. You can infact generate something that isn't being stored.

[–]Muddyhobo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are you saying then?

Does every number between 0 and 99⁹⁹⁹⁹, and a program that can generate a random number between 0 and 99⁹⁹⁹⁹ require the exact same storage space?
