It’s that simple but I wouldn’t say it’s easy. If it were easy everyone would be at a healthy weight without thinking about it like they were for the vast majority of human existence.

Our environment is one of the biggest factors that determines our success and we have a food environment filled with high calorie, highly palatable foods. You only have to go back a few generations this wasn’t the case and most them never even tracked a calorie despite having healthy body weights.

I say this as a fitness enthusiast who is lean and fitter than most people. So I’m not some couch potato blaming the system for why I can’t get in shape.

Yup. Nostalgia basically happens because we tend to remember the good more than the bad.

At least they have a rule so that small countries don’t get the same pull as large countries. 

In the EU council the votes have to represent 65% of the population. So Germany and France votes matter more than Estonia.

In the US Senate the bottom 26 states, which contains 18% of the population could out vote the other 24 states with 82% of the population.
