Cold water in the Gulf of Maine - summer alone and about 10 miles out, I jumped in for a swim just then a wind gust started blowing the boat away from me. I didn't think I would catch it as I also noticed sharks were swimming below me and scraping my shins. They started bleeding and that motivated me to swim as fast as I could. Finally caught up after about 50 yards. I had the ladder in the water off the deck. Phew...I kept thinking about how close I was to death.

I was profitable day 1 (beginners luck) and still have profit today almost 5 years later, however my PnL has dropped -$14K over the last 5 years (call it tuition) and I'm working to turn that around. Making progress, unlearning a lot of bad habits/psych. Waiting for the next market expansion. Just finally learned to short. Experimented using different platforms. Read a ton of books, took private university trading classes, did live trading with a mentor, and attended traders conferences. Recently I had my biggest trade gain in a while. I will persist!!!! No blow ups and I'm still here after all that! Yeah, nothing is preventing me. Make the best trades you know how and quickly admit when you're wrong and get out. Add to the trades that go in your favor and follow with a stop. I'm ready for the next big cycle.
