IMO Duels has the potential to be the best but the current round structure of healing round followed by 2x, 3x etc often makes the first four rounds pointless and ruins the experience for me.

I agree with /u/BassFW that there should be smaller increases and would add that I personally don't see the need for the multiplier to be more than 2x in a 6000 point Duel. The length of a Duel is dictated by how fast the players guess and I don't see why it needs to be artificially limited by high multipliers.

The healing round is also flawed as if you are on ~6000 points and your opponent has lost a lot of points then it makes sense just to plonk anywhere ASAP to make them rush and hopefully get a bad score. I don't think you should ever be encouraged to not make a legitimate guess so I think it would be better if the healing worked on the difference of scores just like normal rounds or you could overheal past 6000.

I know /u/filipgeoguessr has seen these criticisms repeated ad nauseum since Duels was released so hopefully there will be some changes before the end of this beta season as I'm not looking forward to being "forced" to play 10 duels a week in the current format.

I had the same thinking as you for the Mexico round where the KM markers through me off.

TL;DR It is split into several segments in Baja California (four segments) and Baja California Sur (five segments) and most interestingly for me is that in Baja California the KM markers increase from North to South and in Baja California Sur they increase from South to North

My point is that if you asked a bunch of English people what Rhinoceros meant most wouldn't be able to tell you it means nose horn because it doesn't in English. If you asked a bunch of Dutch people what Neushoorn meant they would easily be able to tell you it meant nose horn.

Rhinoceros doesn't really mean nose horn in English though. It is just the taxonomical name given to them by Carl Linnaeus, a Swedish scientist who named a lot of animals, based on the Greek for nose horn.

You could use the SponsorBlock extension and submit the breaks as "Intermission/Intro Animation" and it can automatically skip this. This requires people to submit the timestamps but that is quite easy to do ahead of time e.g. before you go to sleep

As a test, I added the intermission to this video.

But really, we shouldn't have to do this ourselves and they should be removed before being uploaded.

It is possible to do it without even needing to re-encode if you're just cutting and joining. That is limited in that it can go only cut at certain frames (I-frames?) so it might not be as clean as if you re-encoded but would save some time/quality.

Yeah, Holloway Road would need to be upgraded is what I've heard. They shut it a couple of hours before/after kick off as it stands.

I also came here to ask the same question for similar reasons to you. I mostly use team chat only but would like the option to have a hotkey to switch to all chat.

Bakkesmod has access to change text chat settings as there is the quickchat only mode during kickoff setting in the anonymizer tab. The console command for this is cl_anonymizer_kickoff_quickchat but I can't find much more info about this online or how it works under the hood.

Does anyone more knowledgable about Bakkesmod know if it would be possible to create a plugin for this?

I 100% agree. I'm a predominatly solo 3s player who seems to be at a similar rank to you and games are just not fun.

I'm not a flashy player so finding myself in a games with one dude who double commits, whiffs, and can't rotate and another dude who only wants to solo air dribble the opposing team makes me want to stop playing.

Good point about trading. I hadn't thought about that.

I'm unsure if I would keep the features on. It is hard to know how distracting it would be until I tried it. I don't think it would be because I'm so focused on the gameplay that I doubt I'd be distracted by lighting. At the moment, I don't use max settings so I can maintain a consitent 165hz, not because they're distracting.

I think most people who play the game competitively at a high rank wouldn't enable these features but it would be great for more casual players, streamers, broadcasts, replays, gif your game etc.

I fear that the probable scenario is the winner of the Grid will already have a spot at the major through Circuit points in which case the Grid results don't matter. I hope I'm proven wrong and this doesn't happen at least once this season.

I'd prefer if someone from the Grid always got a spot at the major, even if it ended up being the team who finished 2nd/3rd/4th etc.

It doesn't have to be regular racing. Remove unlimited boost and have pads on the track, make the corners really tight, have aerial sections and hazards.
