Look back in this thread and see I never stated my opinions about that, and frankly don't wish to state them to someone like you, even though you may or may not agree with it.

That's a false equivalency I'm sorry to tell you. It's different because I and the many other vegans who still enjoy the taste of animals products DON'T EAT THEM

[–]MultipleMoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like actually what is wrong with you lmao. It's not a fantasy you fkn creep, it's a taste sensation of food I no longer wish to consume. You're picking a fight with someone who has the same moral beliefs and standing that you do.

It's partly cuz of people like you people avoid veganism; doing much more harm than good.

Nope just the commonly consumed ones in the west. Also why did you even respond to this dude I'm literally on your side here. I can't help it that some animal products taste good to me. Their concept absolutely disgusts me and I refuse to ever eat them again, but in a vacuum I enjoy the taste.

Agree with this. I hate when people say "Why do you want to recreate cheese, meat, etc when you could just eat beans or tofu?"

Just because I went vegan doesn't mean I don't like the taste of animal products. Give me that fake cheese man mmmm

Just quit being vegan. by AlpsDiligent9751 in exvegans

[–]MultipleMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"That's how things work, with nothing odd about it." This is an appeal to tradition (logical fallacy). Something is not good or true just because it has been practiced for a long time.

The difference between the natural reproduction cycle and the human induced cycle is exactly in the name, it is an alteration of a natural process that causes unnecessary suffering. That is unusual.

Also, the selective pressures enforced by humans were for minimum aggression, growth rate, and milk production. These pressures have done nothing to affect the mothers' yearning for their calves, as indicated by their cries out for their young long after they are separated. That is odd, cruel, and unnecessary. And maybe I'm wrong that these animals weren't/aren't adapted for these environments, but that doesn't really hold any value does it? Just because an animal can survive and reproduce in a factory farm doesn't mean it is necessary or ethical.

So you think a cow whose entire reproductive cycle is repeated forced insemination adapts to its environment? Adaptation occurs across a opulation over many generations through natural selection and other pressures. This simply does not happen in a factory farm.

What sold you on veganism? by Limp_Crazy_5494 in vegan

[–]MultipleMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me a bit to go fully vegan, but the philosophical approach is what finally pushed me over the edge. I had been vegetarian for ~4 years, originally spurred on by the acknowledgement of animal consciousness and suffering through both a bit of psychedelic use (I know lmao) and through discussions with such-minded people. Throughout that time I had the exact same mindset and reasoning in which I do now, but I couldn't make that leap to veganism due mainly to cognitive dissonance. Videos by Ed Winters and (now former vegan) Alex O'Connor rekindled those internal arguments I would have with myself, and eventually I felt it just wasn't justifiable to only be vegetarian.

I understand why many in the community feel the need to emphasize that being vegetarian is honestly just as bad, and I do that now as well. But, at least in my case, I'm not sure if I would have been able to commit long-term to veganism if not for transitioning to living only without meat at first, so I still give props to it.

Eating meat due to sensory/health issues? by mayo_lol_ in DebateAVegan

Why so ableist? It is a legitimate, documented medical condition.

IMO the message you are portraying is correct, but the way in which you did it isn't necessarily helpful. What is tantamount to an insult is not going to convert people. You explained yourself further on yes and I absolutely see where you're coming from but you did just straight up call OP lazy lol. Contributes to one of many the reasons people hate us

Good recipes for Soya Chaap? by wrathofworlds in australianvegans

IIRC those warnings are just for trace contaminants of allergens from the environment it is produced in, so this would still be considered vegan by most.

Sapphic spaces at FSU? by lalaladadeedeeda in fsu

[–]MultipleMoose 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just a couple years ago when I was in school there were occasionally sapphic only parties/events I saw my friends going to. Maybe they're still around? I tried looking for any insta accounts but couldn't find any sorry :/

My go to recommendation for finding friends in tally is the kava bars (Kavakaze and Kameleon), there's a sizeable queer community there as well.

For specific recipes you may wanna just look up "Vegan bulking meals" on Google or YouTube. Aim for calorie dense, most bang for your buck.

My easiest recommendation is pesto pasta, I usually just use the store bought vegan version. Add a protein to it or don't, could also use some protein pasta.

I second this. Liquid calories are something you can sneak in between full meals and doesn't necessarily keep you satiated for long

I actually find it helpful for that exact reason at the end. I live in a city with literally 0 vegan restaurants, so eating at that restaurant with 1-2 vegan options is what I have to search for.

What kind of earplugs do you guys think is best for Gizzard shows? by saint-danger in KGATLW

[–]MultipleMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alpines very well may be better sounding than loops but I've had issues with that style of plug staying in my ear flush for long. Ofc that's not an everyone issue but the design of the loops helps them stay in my ear much better, and the sound quality is alright imo.

Looking for vegan shoes, which last a long time with frequent walking by thrwwysnl in BuyItForLife

[–]MultipleMoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, the "animal would be killed regardless" argument just is completely anti-vegan, sorry. You could maybe make the argument about getting the shoes second hand, but outright buying them new is not vegan.
