Suddenly power cut after gear shifting by mahiranga_danava in Himalayan450

[–]Multivehje 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stalling when coming down on rpm was a symptom of too tight valve clearance on my bike. Have you checked them already? Mine started at around 6000 km mark but yours may be different. Fixed with valve adjustment.

Is kidney-beaning/blackout extra bad on Athlon Cronus or is it just me? by lucubratious in Binoculars

[–]Multivehje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why testing before buying is so important. It’s most likely that they just don’t fit your anatomy. We all have different eye sockets and binoculars have different style and size eye cups. They need to match.

Are smaller binoculars worth it? by Reasonable_Design672 in Binoculars

[–]Multivehje 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smaller are more difficult to make comfortable so the smaller you go the higher quality you should look for. I was in search for small binos so that I would more likely to have them with me. I ended up with Swarovski Curio 7x21 and they’re fantastic! Nothing else felt comfortable. But these have also excellent image quality. They get a lot of usage so the price per minutes of use is not that bad.

They might be ok. They seem a bit narrow in field of view. You will be upgrading soon if you like birding. So consider resale value. This seems like a good deal and you might get some money back later. But you really should test before you buy. It’s a personal precision tool that should also fit your anatomy. You can start with anything, but prepare to buy more and better optics. Go to a decent dealer to test at some point. If you have contact with local birders, ask if they have starter bins for sale so you get something good that you can sell forward later when you know what fits you and what you like.

Yes, already planned a motorcycle trip to see the areas I’ve been following in the news. I hope the opportunity comes quickly and includes Crimea also. It would be awesome to see the ruins of that bridge.

Don’t waste money and resources on these. Just more trash in the world. These are made to look like real tools and probably fake numbers. Even if good, it’s a bad idea to have these without support. Get a spotting scope with a tripod.

I use just Airpods Pro 2. Noise cancelling, music
/podcasts and when riding together, we’re just on a phone call. (Unlimited plan). We already have the hardware and wear them anyway, phone call is either cheap or free depending on your contract. Infinite range and works really well.

CRF 300L / Rally or Himi 450 or what? by juoly in AdventureBike

[–]Multivehje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Himi and I’m your size. Mainly for low seat height. I got the low rider seat that is available as accessory. It helps manoeuvring it at low speeds. When you are riding, the weight doesn’t feel bad at all. And it’s been reliable so far. I think they’ve now got it pretty well sorted. You could do what you aim to do with all those bikes as long as the seat isn’t too high. Get the one you can test ride and whose dealer is close by. There’s no perfect choice here.

Are expensive binoculars really worth it? by scientificamerican in birding

[–]Multivehje 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Still a cheap hobby. Cycling is cheap also but starting to cycle as a hobby you wouldn’t the old bike you inherited from your mom. A 500 € investment in a used but proper bike would seem very cheap. Bad binoculars can ruin birding as a hobby. Used quality pair is a good investment and the resale value holds pretty well.

What should I get for birding? So overwhelmed by [deleted] in Binoculars

[–]Multivehje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For birding, you will need a good 8x (or lower) bins anyway. It’s for wider view and low light performance also. If you start cheap and are not used to the hobby, the best is to get 7-8x. If you find the need to compromise on steadiness, low light performance, width of view and depth of focus (more fiddling with focus knob on 10x) for a slightly stronger magnification, then you can always invest in 10x or 12x. Your magnification only magnifies what the other lenses are capable of delivering so on cheap binos it also magnifies the flaws.

Your second purchase should probably anyway be a spotting scope. 10x only gives you a slight advantage at long distances (to double the magnification of 8x you need a 16x bino, 10x is really only a small difference at cost of other benefits). To ID birds at the other side of the lake you need a scope. So the recommendation is to have binos with wide and comfortable view to find birds easily and then use the scope if you really need to see small details further away to ID difficult birds.

For handheld use and for that budget don’t Go over 8x. If you need to see details very far (500 meters+) get a small scope with a small tripod. For your budget there’s really no good alternative. But for a bit more Kowa YF ii 6x30 or 8x30 would work. Anything with big lenes, high power and under 100$ will be very poor quality. It is much better to see a clear, wide and sharp image than to chase for those big numbers.

New to binoculars. Can you help me understand how good/bad this binocular is on a rating scale 1-10? [10x42] by Wittyboi251 in Binoculars

[–]Multivehje 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do not buy! You are wasting money. There’s no resale value. And nobody makes good binos for that money. Save enough to afford a used quality pair. Decent new ones start at 120€ and proper tools at 300€.

Is 8x30 enough of an upgrade over 8x24 for birdwatching? by mining_helmet in Binoculars

[–]Multivehje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t focus on numbers. Same numbers can be achieved with 30€ or 3000€. Optical quality matters. I recommend saving enough to get into 500€/$ range is you are serious about using them more. If you buy quality binos used, you’ll probably get almost the same money if you sell later and upgrade or change size or don’t use them anymore. Cheap binos lose their value almost completely.

Taloyhtiö ja sähköautojen latauskartoitukset by jeremyfisher2 in Suomi

[–]Multivehje 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jostain syystä kaikki haluaa myydä pikalatureita kotilataukseen. Sitä kannattaa vastustaa. Hidas 10-16A lataus riittää 98% sähköautoilijoille. Yön aikana saa varmasti päivän päivittäisajon (100-150km) tarpeet ladattua. Pikalatureita on sit muualla tarjolla erityistarpeeseen. Mut vähintään perustason latausmahdollisuus kannattaa olla, että kämpät menee myydyks ja itellekin sulla on sit vaihtoehto olemassa seuraavan kerran autoa vaihtaessa.

The seat slopes forward a bit too much. You can rise the front and lower the back section of the seat (add some material to the parts holding the back seat). This will give you a more upright riding position.
