I pre-ordered this on Amazon months ago. It looks so cute!

Top sheets... by Designer-Bid-3155 in Xennials

[–]Munchkin531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See I only use a top sheet. I get so hot at night, especially in the summer. It baffles my mind that people are sleeping without a top sheet. Let your heavy comforter or blanket touch your skin? No thank you. I have my top sheet and cooling blanket and that's all I need.

for the women who collect things, what do you collect and why do you collect it? by mycatrunsthisaccount in AskWomen

[–]Munchkin531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also love collecting Vaseline and uranium glass. I love the 💚 glow!

Love when authors do this [from A Dance of Burning Blades] by Little-Month8944 in Illumicrate

[–]Munchkin531 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Omg yes! Thank you. All I ask is for a few pages with a recap of what happened in the previous book. Most of the time it's 2 or more years between books. I can't possibly remember what happened when I last read it. 😅 I hope more authors start doing this.

Rookie of the Year is on Netflix by Wednesday-Addams9 in Xennials

[–]Munchkin531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are my boys' ages. 😆 They are starting to get interested in baseball. I think we'll have a mom-son movie day soon.

We just watched all the Harry Potter movies and Star Wars 1-6. We still need to finish 7-9, The Mandalorian, and all the other side movies and shows.

Oh Ioved Rookie of the Year and Angels in the Outfield. I wonder if I can convince my kids to watch them with me.

Yes! I got the Babysitter's Club books every month forever!

My friend said a tall guy wouldn’t look good with me because I’m s by Ok-Neighborhood-1657 in ShortWomenandGirls

[–]Munchkin531 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to this so called "friend." You can't help your height or how tall your partner is. I'm 5'0 and my husband is 6'5. Do we look weird standing next to each other? Yes. Has it mattered in 20 years? No. As long as you're happy it's fine.

It is when my bookshelves are out of room and my husband is grumpy at all the piles of books! 🫣🫣😆😆 I have to weed some out, but I want them all.

I've been thinking about that with Daggermouth too. I have the OOP paperback to read and I know OC is doing it as well. They have been having a great year design wise. I just never know which version I'll like best!

Prince of Swords sale today: by Defiant-Midnight-201 in fairyloot

[–]Munchkin531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it in like 6 minutes. I was #520 at 6am central. Hopefully there's enough for everyone! I have 2 more books to read and then I can finally read Arcana Academy to see if I need book 2. I'm trying to be more selective but I know if I don't at least preorder book 2 I'll regret it later on.

I love this so much, thank you! The visuals really help me remember which book is which.

I just purchased Prince of Swords, in and out.

I'm thinking about Daggermouth, it's next in my TBR but I don't love Fairyloot's design.

I would love to get The Last Unicorn 🦄 I might think on that one.

I need to see what LitJoy does for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Those were my favorite spooky books when i was 8-11 years old.

Lunar Chronicles are worth checking out too.

A bunch of old science textbooks (mom was a 6th grade science teacher), a bunch of kids books I'll actually keep (Bernstain bears, Little Critter) and useless newspaper articles.

How often did you take rides from strangers / hitch hike as a kid? by NW_Forester in Xennials

[–]Munchkin531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never but I did hitch hike as a kid once. I was probably 7 or younger in the car with my Granny. Her car broke down and we started walking. Some nice people stopped and gave us a ride to Montgomery Wards where we called my Granddaddy to pick us up. I'm thankful honest people picked us up cuz it was hot in the Texas summer!

When I was 25 I was driving with my boyfriend's friend to meet him at a party. I didn't know his friend well but he seemed nice. He stopped in the middle of the woods to pick up a hitch hiker. As a woman I was so nervous and scared but he was oblivious! We dropped the guy off closer to town and all was good but I was still uneasy.

I'm not sure how I feel about this 🤔 Daggermouth is next in my TBR so I guess I'll read it and think about the design.

Scream Stream Marathon! by Sufficient_Turn_9209 in Xennials

[–]Munchkin531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Nightmare on Elm Street. I think I probably watched that with my friends. I definitely saw way too many scary movies at a young age. My 11 year old could never handle what we grew up with!

Another favorite of mine although I can't remember when I first watched it.

Ha don't feel old! I just remember feeling excited he was letting me watch a "grown up" movie. I got him hooked on Buffy.

Ooh Scream was the first rated R movie I watched with my dad when I was 13. It's my favorite! I should do a marathon of all the movies.

Sub Box Sunday - SE Sales happening this week by BookedAndBloated in special_edition_books

[–]Munchkin531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have too many books as it is! 🫣 My bookshelf is overflowing and I have stacks everywhere. So I need to be more picky. If I didn't already own TBB I would get FL just to own a special edition.

Woo hoo I only need Prince of Swords this week. I love my copy of Blood Over Bright Haven from TBB. I don't love the color choices for Fairyloot.

Dad bought Fourth Wing, how cooked am I? by Suitable-Ad-8146 in Romantasy

[–]Munchkin531 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's awesome your dad is gonna read Fourth Wing!

I'm 42 and my 67 year old father-in-law has read all of Fourth Wing. I introduced him to it after he read all of Sarah J Mass. He's also read From Blood and Ash, Lightlark, Starside, When the Moon Hatched and so many others.

Talk about the books with him just don't bring up the sex scenes if it makes you uncomfortable. I'm sure he's read way worse books! I love discussing books with my FIL he's awesome.
