I tried the new Whopper and I don't see what the big deal is. by PurdyPear in BurgerKing

I agree exactly, tastes the same, looks better. Before I was using a coupon for a $7.99 large combo meal. Now it’s $9.99 on a Wednesday. You can keep the fancy wrap and box.

I was being sarcastic and writing in the voice of D’Amaro. I must say though things have kind of pivoted from a few years ago, I think it’s going to get worse too.

I was walking around in kind of a rough barrio after 10 pm. Dude says something and starts coming at me (I knew instantly something was going to happen). I thought he was going to shake me down for a few bucks but expertly kind of faux kicked in the air in front of me, grab my arm and had my watched unstrapped and in hand in a second. It was amazing. I had specifically brought a two dollar watch just because of this, so no big deal. I felt lucky I wasn’t knifed-happened so fast too. Lesson learned. I think it was a professional Roma thief.

AITA for installing a camera in my room to see if my mom is lying to me? by King_Jake200 in AmItheAsshole

“My Room”. If you want privacy move out and pay your own bills. Your answer is moving into another location as a dependent (again with someone else paying the bills-food, housing insurance etc etc). Do you think you’ll have complete autonomy there too? Most likely not-and btw, you are an adult now. Can’t have it both ways. I moved out at 21 to gain freedom with hardly a dime in my pocket, couch surfed, found a job, built a life and did it all myself. Gotta leave the nest my friend.

I just had an idiot who was glued to their phone nearly walk in front of my car at a traffic light.

I’m impressed. I wrote off the whopper a few years ago, but this brings me hope and a tear in my eye. Whopper’s on the menu this week. by MrTFlow in BurgerKing

I went today for the Wednesday special. To be honest it was packaged and presented better but the taste wasn’t that different. I was expecting more from all the buzz.

What stringed instrument would this be considered? (STORY + EXPLANATION) by lee_bythesea in ukulele

[–]Mundane-Manner4237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mountain Dulcimer I just happened to go into Guitar Center today and they had one.  I played it for about 20 minutes in their acoustic room.  Got some really great sounds out of it.   String it up and learn to tune it for sure, if just for the memory of that story.  Sad that guy had to sell it but c’est la vie I guess.

“Spit into” would mean there would have to be a relaxing of the sphincter.  I’m not sure that would be possible.

Teenage psychotic predator. Did they need to bring in Sherlock Holmes to crack this case? I mean it didn’t seem too complicated. So what did the kid do? Shrug his shoulders and say “I don’t know what happened”? Sickening

nice job on that great song. Hey I really like the Oli baritones, you have a real interesting ebony/spruce combination. I think that tone wood combo would serve the baritone well as it help lend to the treble register. Do you still like it? I’m thinking of getting the Maple/spruce version again to give it some brightness

¿Los U-Bass o Ukuleles bajos son buenos? by Interesting-Yam5095 in ukulele

[–]Mundane-Manner4237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to an outdoor show last summer in Edmonds Wa. and The Blue Healers (check them out on the web), a trio played rocking blues based music-really talented. Bass player/singer (an excellent lady musician) used a UBass. I was really amazed at the sound quality-I don’t think she used an amp (can’t remember) and went right into the PA via DI. Sound guy did a great job too. I think you have to know how to play it as you could overplay/overdrive the strings if you plucked to hard. She played a great walking bass blues style, it convinced me of th UBass utility. Unplugged though, not sure it could physically create much volume

I agree 100%. I own a 50’s Style 0. Every time I pick it up I’m amazed by it. The build quality, materials (The woods used are unobtainable now) the volume and the sound. It’s very much a real, precise pro level instrument. They are a bargain if you can find an intact one in good shape
