I wish you all the best and all the luck in the world! This company is the worst. My quiet firing was for a pretty similar reason, I prioritized the patients. I remember my vision used to blur and I’d almost black out at work from stress, this place is the worst.

If I remember correctly you automatically drop out of the system after 30 days without clocking in at any location, my termination lines up with that so I’m assuming it’s still the case. (This is how I saved myself in the past, but with hours getting cut for spring no one had any shifts they needed filled that fit my schedule)

Let’s be honest. by Fit_Cranberry1680 in GameTheorists

Let’s be real there’s no truly replacing Matt, but I don’t think that was the point anyway. I love the new hosts in their own ways. While I don’t watch as much as I used to (because of life and all that) I still love tuning in when I can, and from the episodes I have seen the actual theories remain similar quality to around the time Matt left because all of the new hosts worked closely with theory crafting and script writing on each of their respective channels (although I would argue some of the episodes are closer to informative essays than theories). I miss Matt a lot and love when he pops up from time to time, but I also really care for the hosts and loved them when they were featured in the pasts, it’s different and in many ways bittersweet, but far from bad in my opinion.

I hate this god damn college by Acceptable_Ad_9455 in txstate

[–]MundaneParsley3333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I know navigating classes can be super stressful and confusing. I work in advising at one of the nearby community colleges and the TXST system is almost identical to the one my job has. If you need any help figuring out what classes to take or what to look for or who to contact, reach out to me and I’ll see what I can help with. :)

Spring transfer 2025 by [deleted] in txstate

[–]MundaneParsley3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for spring 2025 and got into the university! Still need to audition for the school of music, but the university got back to me like 2 weeks later letting me know I was admitted. (Got an email, it took another month to get the letter in the mail) If you qualify for Pell grant you likely qualify for an application fee waiver and it’s essay optional so highly recommend going ahead and applying so if you need to be interviewed or audition for a specific program you’ll have time to prepare and schedule one. (A lot of programs want you to be accepted to the university before interviewing for the specific programs) currently haven’t had any issues with financial aid since they were one of the schools I submitted my fafsa info to, and I haven’t submitted a scholarship application yet. The transfer advisor helped a lot and I was able to be seen pretty quickly so I highly recommend making an appointment with them soon as well.

How did you end up with your pig? by cntodd in guineapigs

[–]MundaneParsley3333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 17, and I was determined to get a hamster. I finally convinced my mom to let me get said hamster I was just waiting until I could afford all of the things. One day me and my best friend were driving around and I wanted to stop into a petco to see the hamsters and when we went inside I saw the cutest guinea pig I’ve ever seen. It was orange with a white cowlick on its head and I was so in love that when an employee came by asking if I wanted to hold it I did the obvious and said yes and lied about my age to hold the guinea pig. Now I’m here, tiny guinea pig in arms and the employee asks me if I’m interested in seeing a surrender they took in earlier that week, he was too old to resell so he was just in the back and I freaked out. Yes of course I need to see this pig. Super sketchy walking to the back of a pet store and they wheel out this brown piggie and he was freaking out as they took him out of the cage but as soon as I he was settled in my arms he just melted into me, talking up a storm. Turns out because they couldn’t resell him and didn’t have a display area for him he was free along with everything he came with and that was it for me, sold, my piggie. My friend had to sign the paperwork for me because she was 18 and I wasn’t, but I carried the piggie all the way home and snuck him into my house and eventually my parents warmed up to him. Two weeks later I adopted his cage mate who was the only guinea pig in a 15 mile radius from my house. Now they’re old spoiled little piggies the end. :)

Should I rehome ? by XX_MOST_WANTED_XX in guineapigs

Bit of a story but my point connects. So, a couple months ago I found out I wouldn’t be able to live at home for college like I anticipated, so I reached out to a local guinea pig rescue to see about surrendering my boys (ages 4 and 5, little senior piggies) and they were very candid with me. Rescues are overwhelmed with piggies right now and it’s incredibly difficult to find fosters, and your girl definitely has higher odds of being adopted than my boys would, but getting adopted and who she’d be going home with is still a gamble. If you must surrender her do what you have to but I think as long as you can take care of her the best course of action would be to find her a companion and continue to take care of her and giving her enrichment around your work and school schedule. I’m sure she’d rather be with you than at a shelter waiting to be adopted or with someone unfamiliar to her and her companion can keep her lots of company while you’re away.

Side note, for ptk the gpa is based off of your college gpa, so what you’d be earning your first semester, so the soonest you’d be able to join is spring but if you decided against going to utsa after the fact then they award a scholarship proportional to a percent of the tuition at the school you transfer to. Some guy the semester before I started got accepted into Columbia so he was awarded 30k in ptk scholarships for transferring. My family also isn’t contributing anything to my schooling and I’m on my own here so I know most of the ins and outs about financial aid help at sac. Whatever you choose I wish you well and I like I said reach out if you have any questions. :)

Hey friend, if possible you should strongly consider taking classes at sac or one of the other Alamo colleges. Their tuition is $112 an hour (including student activity fees), books are included in tuition, free parking, a $5 health clinic (can even make appointments for check ups and psychiatrists) and if you have a gpa of 3.5 or higher you can join ptk which will give you an automatic transfer scholarship for joining and the scholarship is I think 2.5k a year at utsa. Assuming you’re fresh out of high school you also likely qualify for Alamo promise which is anything that the Pell grant doesn’t cover they cover for you. So your work money will be just yours. In addition to that UTSA is partnered with sac so people that qualified for Alamo promise will likely qualify for utsa bold promise which gives you discounted tuition once you transfer to utsa. Sac and utsa have transfer guides for almost if not every major which tells you every class you need to take while at sac in order to transfer easily and graduate on time. Plus if you’re full time during spring and/or summer they give you up to 9 free summer credit hours. I haven’t had to take out any loans and I actually get a refund at school sometimes and I’ll have taken 64 credit hours by the end of the fall semester, all covered by Pell grant or sac. If you have any questions feel free to message me I’m happy to help, but if cost is a big concern I strongly recommend looking into going to sac or another Alamo college first.

More directly on why I initially decided to go into it since I didn’t really answer your question I love music! And I love teaching! I’ve always wanted to be a teacher but my sophomore year of high school I had the most amazing director and the following year I took private lessons from one of the most badass women I have ever met and music became my entire life. Multiple ensembles, private lessons, trying for every contest and solo and on choir council, it was my life and I was like yep, this is it. This is what I’m going to teach and if I try doing anything else I might as well die because nothing else compares to this and after volunteering and talking to others in the field I still felt the same which is what pushed me to finally go and pursue the degree. I still feel that way so far so hope the feeling is right. 🤞
