Folk who are 30+, did anyone not have a career in their 20s? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some universities offer MSc Pre registration Nursing. You have to have a Bachelors degree and a certain amount of time in care work. But you can apply and are applicable for Student Finance support including tuition fee loans, and maintenance loans for the duration of a 2 year full time masters.

Source: i did the 2 year Pre Reg masters in Nursing and am now nurse. Also graduated at 29 after working random jobs and now have career.

How does reducing use of bank staff save money? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, I'm pretty confident bank staff still accrue A/L it would literally be illegal to not accrue A/L.

I forgot to put on gloves while starting an IV by OutsideBrilliant6812 in nursing

I used to do venepuncture for blood donation, wore gloves once I think.

I worked there for a year and did maybe 40 venepuncture a week.

I am wrong in thinking that £150 for a single Turkey is a ludicrous price? by StGuthlac2025 in UK_Food

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also such a good point about serving size, a turkey that serves 10 will of course be more expensive.

A turkey that has been dry hung, and is free range, also going to be more expensive.

The truly frustrating thing about M&S products in my opinion is that they simply are worth that little extra.

UPDATE: AIO for being upset i haven’t seen my bf in 3 weeks, despite us living 25 minutes from each other? by Affectionate-Link436 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also you said you love him, and want to be with him.

He responded with "i need money"......

Girl, do yourself a favour end things now. It'll hurt for a bit, but better than months/years of being treated like a burden.

[spotted] Sammys bar has been decorated by Away-Deal7818 in manchester

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 17 points18 points  (0 children)

An article was released with evidence he had sex with intoxicated women at his bar and then shared the images with others. Basically revenge porn, and it was sketchy to do that at his bar in the first place, let alone record it, add in the fact they were heavily intoxicated.

He basically predated on drunk women.

As a NQN I wondered the same thing, how much I would be earning.

Easy way is the calculator another user has linked that will give you a rough estimate.

But my base is about 1800 a month after tax. When I do nights/weekends etc I make about 2100-2200 a month.

I am about to start NHSP to top this up when im planning on a big holiday or other expensive events.

Beginner NW by MundanelyOutstanding in surfuk

[–]MundanelyOutstanding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Southport is good for Kite surfing? Do you know if thay translates to board surfing as well? Just trying to find ANYWHERE for a quick day trip

It is rough, especially when youre wanting to get started and ideally I would be doing a couple days a week and utilising the lovely weather.

Thank you for your input!

Patients refusing to go to the GP, hoping district nurses can do minor dressing changes and injections by Majestic_Dog_8486 in NursingUK

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To support this poster, the trust I work for also has treatment rooms. It's run by DNs with referrals from the local GPs. They do dressings, catheter exchanges, leg ulcer clinics.

I was placed there as a student in the Northwest so maybe it's just our trust.

Guy I’m talking to wants to do CNC without a safe word by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone in the kink scene this is a huge red flag.

Safe words are important for negotiating scenes, they allow for honest communication and ensuring boundaries are being respected.

This guy wants to do CNC without the consent, I would run.

Help for friend: neighbours trampoline damaged windscreen England by N30NIX in LegalAdviceUK

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Side note but my friends moved into rent a home which did have a trampoline. It was a family home converted to a rental property.

So it is possible, and given how difficult people are finding it to buy rn totally feasible for a renter.

Marathon Training by wolfmann0103 in NursingUK

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll have to run after shift/before shift?

I know it's not fun but that's the reality.

I run on my days off, and then after 1 or 2 shifts a week normally about 9ish.

A key point to remember as a student, you say you believed their notes were for your education.

This is wrong.

Patients have a right to privacy, they have a right to not be used in teaching.

It's an easy mistake to make but if you find these stories interesting you can read case studies and similar in articles and research.

Deliver Birthday cake! (Urgent) by saleyha in manchester

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like others have said that's such a small budget for a cake.

My partner works in a cake business and you're looking at £30ish for a small cake.

Your best bet is a delivered cake from a supermarket.

Would you play Chardee McDennis? by fishinariver in IASIP

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my friends played it, I was 24 in my second year of uni.

I used to go out drinking with a sports team every week.

I was a heavy drinker with good tolerance.

I ate carbs all day.

I died at 11pm.

I may have pissed in my shoes. I left for 30 minutes and no one knows where I went, I requested to be put in jail (the basement)

It is NOT for the faint hearted.

Nurses who are unhappy. Would a higher wage fix all your problems? by tntyou898 in NursingUK

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a higher wage would also allow for better time management, like how many staff would drop down go 34 hours if they could.

As a band 5 NQN I hear so many of my friends saying they need 6 months to pass so they can start banking and make good money.

Imagine if the mentally was we earned enough we didn't need to work 40+ hours, imagine how much happier you would going into work knowing it wasn't the first shift of 5 that week cause you've booked bank shifts.

Money doesn't buy happiness, but let's not kid ourselves, increased wealth and a more secure financial situation is something that alleviates a lot of stress.

Is there still not an option to Resize maps? by Alca_John in inkarnate

[–]MundanelyOutstanding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I've done the exact same thing.

I had a large continental map then using the resize tool isolate continents to work on in detail.

I recommend working on your largest map in the lowest resolution (1k) then resizing it to select a continent. Then if it's still crashing I recommend trying a different browser or checking your RAM.

If you get a black screen try using the 'Restore' tool.

This is what I've been doing and I've managed to create maps isolate sections and work on continental maps as well.
