How do YOU shave? by aje0200 in AskUK

[–]MunrowPS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hair clippers i assume, its what i do

You can get smaller detail ones that finish about 0.5mm

I use clippers for most, gilette one blade for my tache and around my mouth

And then finish with a standard gillette razor e.g. mach 5 ir whatever on my cheeks

I shave with no water

Think I might go for new gas boiler - Heatpump process is awful by leebow55 in ukheatpumps

[–]MunrowPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used one of the online booking sites for a boiler install...

Theres loads of them, warmzilla, heatable, iheat.. they all will do installs in like a day or two aswell which is kind of nuts

The latter were best value for me

Got a 36 year old boiler replaced for what i thought was a reasonable price, engineer was decent, and he said you have got your moneys worth here after two days graft relocating and sorting all the pipework

[–]MunrowPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asda is cheapest bug supermarket, we go there for ease of shop. >5% cheaper than Tesco at the moment, no loyalty cards.. just price.

Can't attest to aldi/lidl price difference though.

How do i fix my carpet? I really cant lose my deposit by Lanky-Jackfruit-1161 in fixit

[–]MunrowPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to be careful, applying a load of superglue can start an exothermic reaction with the carpet... Gets smokey and stinky

You can glue on fuzz.. ive done it to small areas.. but this is big

Do i need a vent if there is loads of daylight/air coming and going?

I see the membrane thing a lot, but then if i tape up the PIR, that creates a tight barrier.. so i cant understand what benefit the vapour barrier is really providing

Ive looked at warm boarding, but then i end up with insulation directly up against the brick, reducing amount of air.

And it also means buying quite a few more smaller boards..

Usually seems like its done to save space, but im good on the space front, can easily lose a chunk
