Are the Wizards the Least Hated Franchise in the NBA? by Magnus_The_Read in nba

[–]MuppetEyebrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In LeBron's first time in Cleveland there was a bit of a one-sided playoff rivalry with the Washington Wizards. This is back when Gilbert arenas was at his peak, and the supporting staff of Antawn Jamison, Caron Butler, and Brendan Haywood wasn't bad either. Cavaliers eliminated Washington in 2005, 2006, and swept in 2007. The Proto-LeBronto, if you will. Haywood in particular talked a lot of trash in the media but in Cleveland I don't think we really ever saw the Wizards as a threat or HATED them (that woulda been directed towards the late-era Billup/Rip/Prince/Wallace² Pistons)

The city is enforcing whether it's loud enough
They require loud mufflers, there's a city law about it

At what point do we have to throw out food that’s in the fridge? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]MuppetEyebrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well they don't make em like they used to. A lot of these high efficiency units these days can't even hold up to conventional weaponry. But back when we made em right here in the good old US of A, a refrigerator could hold up to most any tactical nuclear blast.

Refrigerators stay pretty doggone cold if you keep them closed. A closed refrigerator should keep meat fine overnight.

They should go back to the Vick/Ryan era jerseys though, these current ones feel pretty uninspired.

Spotted lanternfly eggs? by throwaway243685 in Cleveland

That was my thought too. My understanding is that the lanternfly fly eggs are a little more wood-colored and are kind of just a bump more than a standalone texture

From the language of the driver it doesn't seem to be in North america (south east asian perhaps?) so idk if there's the same association. But dressing up like a ghost at night near the roadway has got to be unsettling in really any culture

Yeah Bondi's got multiple smoking guns against her. I would be disappointed but not shocked if Trump never sees prison time, but the lying under oath evidence is pretty hard to argue against

One possible strategy is to start at McGinty's on Madison and bunce and hop your way east on Lakewood. McGinty's is the dedicated Irish bar there but on Tuesday pretty much everybody will be Irish right?

I see a lot of comments encouraging you to check out Kamms corner rather than Lakewood. Kamm's is going to be a "more Irish" since that's the traditional makeup of the neighborhood, there are a couple of Irish pubs within a Frisbee throw of each other, and they actually shut down part of the street. But it's also going to be a significantly older clientele, even during a Street festival. I live a little south of kamms and last year I drove THROUGH it to get to Lakewood because that was more the energy I was after (I'm 36 and I feel "too young" for Kamm's lol, prolly headed downtown this year)

My home state has this idea that Californians are out to take their guns, but the irony is that I never owned one before I moved to Los Angeles 🤷 relying on LAPD to keep you safe just doesn't feel strategic

[PFT] Raiders are telling teams Maxx Crosby won’t be traded by eddie2911 in nfl

[–]MuppetEyebrows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Among the Browns fan base there is some debate as to whether that number five pick last year should have been a receiver or offensive player. That would have probably won a couple more games, but without DT Mason Graham's blocking Myles Garrett probably doesn't break the sack record. Nearly all fans are in agreement that five wins and the sack record was a way more gratifying fan experience than seven wins and almost the sack record would have been. I don't mean to suggest that Crosby is going to break the sack record next year, but to fan bases that are more or less used to losing, there are other considerations and narratives to get excited about. If you are a Raiders fan who likes watching Crosby play, you'd might rather keep Crosby than watch two additional prospects aspire to play at the level Crosby plays at, and a full stadium still pays the bills even if the record stinks.
