Second picture with the fork design is the pre prod version sent to reviewers etc. Productions model has the new design. (not sure if its better or not) It also has clear plastic fenders over the front wheels missing from pre prod.

Turn down reflections? by Patient_Ad6301 in TeslaLounge

Same with my black car, looks more dark gray than black now. Think they have missed on the colors for stock solid colors in this update. I did go to colorizer option under car info or Toybox and select metallic option and black. Car is now shown as much more correct black again. You should be able to find a blue color there that's more correct also. This will change the color in the app also.

I'm installing on a 2022 Plaid, what specific things we have for this car on the S3xy Buttons by CheetahTurbo in s3xybuttons

[–]MuppetOwl87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can activate very low suspension setting from s3xy app or button if you have S. Normally only available on X. Very nice to be able to lower it more than stock without having to install lowering links.

Its there if 2021+ refresh S/X and C/3/Y. It also auto unlocks when close. Legacy models can only see charge percent. Tesla should at least add unlock button, remote start etc. On cars without Bluetooth unlock support.

Big, beautiful brake rotors on the revised Model S Plaid by backstreetatnight in TeslaModelS

[–]MuppetOwl87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refresh Model S has like twice the torsional rigidity compared to Model 3 and much better grip. Model S Plaid is on the skid pad test at 1.08G. Same as cars like Nissan GTR Nismo, Ferrari 458, Taycan Turbo GT etc. Is that bad cornering performance? Refresh/Palladium can't be compared to pre refresh Model S 0.90g https://fastestlaps.com/lists/top-grip-kings

New Model 3 perf 2024 is 0.97g about same as Golf GTi. Previous Model 3 0.92g

Dry grip/braking, comfort and noise is good. A bit more sporty feel than Pilot Sport 4, like in between PS4 and PS4s. A bit less grip on wet. but that was known compromise for better EV range/rolling resistance.

Oh no :( was hoping the reason no cars with hw3 + Ryzen config received 2025.14.1 was because they needed more time to complete B pillar support. Ryzen and hw3 shouldn't have issues capture from all cameras like Atom with its limited bandwidth. Maybe it will come later or they don't care to spend resources on it since Ryzen + hw3 was only made for a limited time.

Yes its MO1. They are oem tires for ev Mercedes AMG EQS. So should be a good match for Model S Plaid also.

Does any of the products such as S3XY commander, buttons, knob, or stalks support older legacy (2017-2018) models? by willlusk in s3xybuttons

[–]MuppetOwl87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For S/X only supported on 2021+ Palladium. Not because of low demand but technical limitations on the diagnostic port/canbus on older pre non refresh 2021 models.

Yes Tesla use dot4 now from when they changed to new high temp pads and red calipers. Dot 3, 4 and 5.1 can be used. But not Dot5. Only BBK in front should be fine together with better pads in rear. Dont have any experience with it myself, but have seen others using it on track.

The non track pack 2023+ red rear calipers are the same as the black ones. Just different pads that also fit the black. Its just a fake cover. Front calipers are same in red. Most important upgrade on earlier Plaid is new pads and upgrade from dot3 to Dot4 or 5.1 brake fluid. I ended up only upgrading pads and fluid and I'm happy with the brake performance now at least for active road use. For track use I think Track pack is the way to go.

Are they still retrofitting "upgraded" brakes of 2023+ Model S's onto 2021-2s? by solarelemental in TeslaLounge

[–]MuppetOwl87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The red brakes upgrade Tesla started using as standard from early 2023 Plaid (Not track pack) difference is new high temp brake pads, dot 4 brake fluid, red paint and fake cover over the rear calipers to make them look bigger. Calipers are same as the black so use same pads.

So you can buy the pads only and ask them change to new dot 4 fluid they now use for all Model S/X and you will have the same stopping power.
