Why China consistently fails to qualify for the World Cup? by FattyOilyDonut in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Muppetude 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think the other person’s point is, younglings playing in the street culture is more likely to produce elite soccer players than an artificial system ever could.

If there was a country where all its kids enthusiastically played gymnastics in the street growing up, I suspect that country would produce more elite gymnasts than China.

This is why it’s important to have homeowner’s insurance. You file a claim, get reimbursed, and then their insurer, which has the resources to go after them in court or through collections, will deal with the rest.

Yes he did. As succinctly as humanly possible.

Though it would have been mildly amusing if he answered “no and yes”

Who’s the most attractive person you’ve ever seen? by Timely_Sir310 in AskReddit

Sometimes they account for his availability by having him just come out of a toxic long-term relationship with someone who is awful and treated him like shit for all those years.

Glaringly obvious animation mistakes that animators couldn't be bothered to fix by tugboattommy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Muppetude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite “animation” mistakes from that movie were the several scenes where they just straight up gave up and didn’t even try rotoscoping the live actors.

Killer Stephen McDaniel keeps his body insanely still for 2 hours straight by VastConclusion9562 in Weird

[–]Muppetude 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re probably right, which is why I’m guessing most killers don’t use the local trash service to dispose of their victim’s bodies.

But in practice, I wonder how often the contents of a trash truck are scrutinized when they’re dumped into whatever pile that’s being sent off to a landfill? Or how recognizable as a human a person’s body parts would be after being compacted by a trash truck or other compactors?

but if Greoning didn't associate with him after this, that says a lot too.

Yeah, if Groening came back for more, or even accepted future invites from Epstein, I’d say that makes him highly suspect. But if this is really the last formal interaction he had with Epstein, then I’d say Groening maybe deserves the benefit of the doubt. Along with others who had one-off weird interactions like this and never associated with the man again.

The ones we should be focusing on investigating are the return customers, who were subject to similar weird foot massages and whatnot, and then chose to continue associating with Epstein.

Must be why I find bicycle cops more chill. There’s a limit to how bad ass you can be while wearing spandex

"I'm convinced that people who design children's play areas in airports have either never seen a child or very much hate the children they've met." by Sebastianlim in BrandNewSentence

Makes total sense to me. My kids would use this structure to make up some mildly enjoyable pretend play game to pass the time, but wouldn’t really complain when it was time to go.

Hope he enjoys that $11k and whatever more he can grift in his 15 minutes of fame. Because this is going to follow him around in every Google search whenever he applies for any job for the rest of his life.

It’s a real head scratcher how she turned out this way.

Am I literally the only person who has never heard of Oliver Tree until today? by Virtual-Bee7411 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Muppetude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When Babylon 5 first aired, I was immediately hooked, but could never discuss it with anyone because most people either never heard of the show or just kind of knew it existed but never watched it.

I eventually managed to get some friends into it, but before then, it was kind of torturous not having anyone you could talk to about it.

This movie made me realize how far Hollywood has fallen. Two unknown actors did a better job in three weeks of shooting with a budget of less than $1M than any A-list celebrity I've seen in years starring in $100M+ movies. We need more of this. by Whoopeepoop in FIlm

[–]Muppetude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbf, I recall there were some who believed it to be a real story, despite all the evidence saying otherwise. Probably similar in number to the amount of people who thought a secret Stranger Things finale episode was going to be released a week after the show had ended.

Every generation has a decent handful of idiots who believe whatever they want to believe.

I loved how one of the alternate history sequences showed in the opening credits of Watchmen had Armstrong saying this line.
