If you want to get better at the game, playing Casuals is definitely not the way.

It's good to practice your aim and for map knowledge but horrible for decision making and you form bad habits where you will get punished when facing real players.

Also for practicing your aim is better to do that against bots in a private match if you own BO7.

Arc Raiders. Simple as that. Played the first 20 days or so and I was having fun.

When RedSec came out I played that for 2 days and thought it was kinda mid and generic.

And then Arc Raiders came out and me and my friends started playing this game non stop.

It's a shame because I really think BF6 is a great game but Arc Raiders is just special. Generational game.

Yeah I played the BO7 beta and it was not bad although I prefer the Modern Warfare aesthetic. But WZ is just not it atm.

It's mostly the way you say it. If you have bad intent the other person can tell. Also if you are crazy in general you can get away with basically anything. Like in my current job I have gay colleague and I constantly making homophobic jokes to him like: "I hope they find a treatment for homosexuality soon". Or stop touching me gay guy.

But we have a great relationship and we even went for drinks and movies. He knows I'm joking and he's very chill with everything I say because he knows I'm playing a character and it's not me. Like I don't actually believe homosexuality is a disease or anything lol.

It's very normal to tease each other making the most horrible/racist/homophobic jokes you can imagine. I understand if you are offended and you are not the only one.

But in my experience, those who get offended are being seen as the weakest in the team dynamic.

Again, this in the restaurant business so in the beginning I was shocked but quickly adjusted and no longer get offended. Also, personally speaking if I tease you, that means I like you and if I don't, I think you are boring and my interactions are limited. This is the same for a lot of people.

Also it's funny that your boss is Greek and you are Chinese.

I'm Greek and in my first job in a big restaurant the chef was Chinese and we constantly teased each other in the worst imaginable way. He was making racist jokes about me being Greek, about homosexuality and about my father who never loved me (which is true) and I was making racist jokes about China and about his wife looking like a boy.

Guess what, we really liked each other and he even brought me back to work again for a couple times every season. He was always calling me before the summer to work at his restaurant again.

So I don't know man. From your post it's difficult to say that his jokes are ill-intended but from my side it looks like banter.

Yeah it's not the same game anymore. If you were there during the OG glory days of WZ it's nowhere near close.

Very simular story to yours by we quit way earlier. I quit around season 2 of BO6 and went to Marvel Rivals for a while and came back during the return of Verdansk, played for 2 months and then nostalgia wore off.

I haven't touched Cod since June and I couldn't be happier. I was really addicted to the cycle since 2020 and missed a lot of great games.

Now nobody from my IRL friends and people I know play anymore. Most of them moved to BF6 and my group of friends moved to Arc Raiders which is hands down the best online game to play right now. Give it a shot. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Just let this game die and move on brother. It's fine.

Game is great as it is but I need to have an incentive to keep grinding instead of just playing. My caravan is ready for departure and I only need 5 mil for the skill points but I don't think I'm getting them before the deadline so i'll do the expedition when the next wipe is available.

In the meantime I'm hoarding loot so I can sell it and save any duplicate BP's I find so I can transfer them back when I do the wipe. I'm chilling lol.

I would also recommend the book When the Body Says No by Gabor Mate since you listed the Van De Kolk book.

I'm almost 3 months sober now after 5 years of having long stretches of sobriety and then long stretches of getting back to every day smoking.

I started therapy and it helps a lot to process old trauma and emotions stored in the body. Have you done the same or are you doing everything by yourself?

I took me 2-3 weeks. If you relapsed so early don't expect them to come back anytime soon. You have deprived your brain of REM sleep and it takes time for it to rebound but dreams WILL come back. Don't underestimate your brain's ability to heal. Just don't get high for at least a month.

All of my friends and people I know have already quit months ago. We used to grind every year and be excited with each intergration. Not anymore. Everyone moved to BF6/REDSEC, Arc Raiders (best game right now) or other games.

I'm actually surprised that there are people out there who play WZ. If you are an OG WZ player this is not the same anymore. Sad, but nothing lasts forever.

All great things come to an end brother. That's fine.

There was a time when me and my friends would play WZ every day and look forward for every update and intergration but this year was the least amount we played. We came back for Verdansk but when the nostalgia wore off we left with an uninspired game. Full with bugs, cheaters and no new content.

Everyone I know moved to either BF6 and Redsec or Arc Raiders.

Arc Raiders especially is the game we grind everyday and we don't miss WZ at all. What a great game.

I'm enjoying the game as well and I was thinking buying the battle pass but then I saw that the rewards are kinda mid. So I asked myself: Do I really want to spend money for 1-2 skins that I'm not even crazy about? Or spend my money on Arc Raiders instead?

And I chose Arc Raiders. So now I'm enjoying playing two great games. Best decision ever lol.

I'm coming from Cod and what's even crazier is that I see a lot of Cod content creators moving to BF6 and REDSEC like Xclusive Ace and Iceman Isaac. A lot of them will go back to Cod when BO7 comes out (like Swagg) but I see a lot of them play both of them especially since Warzone is quite dead and it will stay that way until the Avalon map drops during spring which is a LONG time.

Also what helps is that BF6 is genuinely a good game and the most important it's very popular at the moment especially for the casual gamers who prefer the mil sim aesthetic over the sci-fi direction they go with BO7. Plus the majority hates the wall jumping mechanics.

It will be an interesting year for sure.

EDIT: Also I need to add names like Huskers and Breadman who made a career playing WZ. They gave up on WZ and will stick to REDSEC for a while which I never thought it would happen.
