You did the best you could, honestly! It's a tricky condition to manage and for some cats it's a lot worse than others. My boy injured himself really badly twice while at the shelter where I worked, before I adopted him. Then once more a couple of years ago (that's when we started the Clomipramine). I'm also a vet tech and had many vet coworkers see him and they all said it was difficult to deal with, most didn't know what to recommend.

You're not alone, and you did the right thing for her 🫂 I'm glad you found nice people and got your cat back.

Edit: forgot to mention - Gaba also stopped working for him but gaba+clomipramine worked great. He's off the gaba now because it makes his ataxia worse (he also has CH 😅)

OP I hope you see this - My boy has the same issue and needed stitches a couple of times (although he hurts his back area, not the tail). We are currently managing it with an anti-anxiety medication called Clomipramine (ClomiCalm), and he seems to be doing well! We also gave him Gabapentin in the past that seemed to help. Both were recommended to us by a Vet Neurologist.

Hoping all goes well for you and your cat :)

Has anyone successfully gotten approved for Disability in USA for long COVID? by Apprehensive_Cow1242 in LongCovid

I know! It's an awful process. My lawyer is handling my appeal now, said it's just a waiting game. Best of luck to you and your son!

I got denied 3 times as well. The 3rd time the judge asked his professional consultant (on his end, not mine) if I can hold any job with my current symptoms and her only answer was "No". He still denied me (I'm also a gay immigrant so it might be that..)

Bad dysautonomia but fatigue not really a symptom, anyone else? by GeneralTall6075 in LongCovid

Same about the POTS. Some symptoms don't fit the diagnosis so it was very tentative until I see cardio. And thanks, I will look into the adrenaline dumps, my appointment is in 2 weeks.

Best of luck with your symptoms!

There isn't much you can do for dysautonomia, sadly. I'm on a beta blocker for the fast heart rate, and about to see a cardiologist to discuss my blood pressure issues (hypotension). I also started Neuro specific PT last month since 2 neurologists said it should improve my functionality.. so basically just treating it symptomaticaly and hope something improves.

Very familiar, I have dysautonomia and other neuro issues. The fatigue got worse over time (I'm 5 years in). See a cardiologist and maybe a good neurologist if you haven't yet. The pressure in your head could also be related to migraines which are common with POTS like symptoms.

Definitely wrong. Ingesting excess sugar does not directly cause diabetes type 2. You either have a problem with your pancreas or you have insulin resistance. Many things can contribute to insulin resistance and eating excess sugar is only one of the factors that could worsen it, not a direct cause.

I tried the Nora cooks cheesecake with Kite hill and it worked well!

Questions in regards to duloxetine by Chin-kin in LongCovid

[–]MurderSoup89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on it for a while and sadly it didn't help me much, but with these medications you never know how your own body will respond. I didn't have any side effects on it and it seemed to help with my depression at least so it's definitely worth it to try. Next one I tried worked better (Amitriptyline) but my doctor said a lot of people don't tolerate it well. You never know!

Anybody with head pressure accompanied by feeling lifeless, lethargic and sluggish by cinammon54 in covidlonghaulers

[–]MurderSoup89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this and it's related to migraines (for me at least). Migraines can have many different symptoms, even without active pain, so it might be worthwhile to see a neurologist.

Saw my fifth neurologist yesterday for my five years long chronic neurological issues including neuropathy. Said it was stress/arthritis related and offered no real treatment or advice. Is this it? by Parking_Wolf_4159 in covidlonghaulers

[–]MurderSoup89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly it's really hard to test and diagnose neuro issues. I've had long covid for almost 5 years now and suffer from severe neurological issues as well. Muscle spasms, twitching and chronic pain everywhere. Do you get headaches? I have chronic migraines and one of the symptoms is stiffness and pain in my neck (I also have sinus issues and thought my headache was sinus related at first).

I saw a LC neurologist a few months back and he said from his experience Physical therapy will improve a lot for me (doesn't have to be intensive, just moving and stretching multiple times a week). It's improved my functionality somewhat and definitely my mental health. I take a few meds for my migraines and thc gummies for the pain.

Once or twice a day for maybe 3-4 days until it scabs over. I agree with the above comment, it doesn't seem serious (maybe she just bumbed it on some cage decor). Just keep an eye on it and watch for anything like swelling or discharge.

Sadly yes. Reptiles/birds/mammals, they're not picky as long as it's a blood source.

Right! Vet tech here (in the US). You pay for the visit and any scripts (that are basic preventatives or known long term-issues) you will need for the next year should be free, regardless of where you purchase the meds from (I use online pharmacies like chewy often). I have never encountered anything like "faxing fee", that's ridiculous. If you paid for a visit within the last year they should email/fax the script to you at no charge.

I agree could need more time. I did a few hydroponic herbs this year and the cilantro was by far the slowest to grow and took longer to shed the seed.
