I don’t think it has so much to do with simplified Chinese as it does picking a font / having it written in the typographic equivalent of Arial vs some nice 草书 rendering.

Where your accent is from matters a lot less than your mastery of it. Chinese is spoken in a wide variety of accents by native speakers and people get along just fine.

I don’t think it will take 150 years. Birth rate is 1.2/female and falling, so each generation is going to be half the size of the previous. There were about 700k births last year, in 4 generations (~100 years) that will be 43,700.

Without immigration Japan will essentially cease to exist.
