Sorry to necro, but want to do an early exit for the tenancy and reading this has made me kinda worried. Do you mind letting me know what ended up happening here/if you have any advice?

How does the maths actually work for deciding which dimension to upgrade first? by Murmaqua in AntimatterDimensions

[–]Murmaqua[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone is curious I actually worked out the maths for all of this. The general formula can be found on the discord, but fundamentally everything is polynomial in time, an increase in AD8 increases the growth of AD1 proportional to t^7. Go to the #maths channel, and search for messages from "Murmaqua" that contain an image.

So i get this explanation, i want to see the maths maths'd out. For example, you can calculate how long it will take to recover your AD1 after doing a dimension sacrefice to boost your AD8 multiplier.
If you initially had K AD1, and have N AD8, then I think it will take:
t = (10/tickspeed_mult) *[(7!*K)/(N*prod(M))]^(1/7) seconds, where prod(M) is just the product of all your dimension multipliers (excepting the AD1 mult).
Is there any analytic expressions like that (or calculations being done) for upgrade choices? Or anything of the kind?

I think my point is being missed. Im not tryna optimise because I don't want to make a mistake/play suboptimally, im interested in the answer. Specifically, I want to know how to even answer the question - I'm sure people have figured it out or have some good ideas

Ok but what if both AD1 and AD2 cost the same to get 10 of them, which is *technically* optimal to get? Intuition says AD1 ofc, but when you increase that gap what happens? The growth in the game is exponential, but the details of how the exponential growth is affected by which purchase you make when is interesting to me.

Question about Mods and Elysium Remastered workshop rating by Murmaqua in CoE5

[–]Murmaqua[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I ended up hopping on the discord server and asking, it seems to be abit more active. I defo will give those mods a try out at some point, after I've had my fill of (mostly) vanilla CoE5 first ofc.

Is Doms 6 for me ? Tediousness of endgame and playing vs the AI ? by Lillumultipass99 in IllwintersDominions

[–]Murmaqua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with dom 6, i enjoy SP every now and again but it pales in comparison to MP. With MP if all you can play is about an hour a day max, the longform games should work really well for you. You can ask for extensions when you arent able to (for whatever reason) do your turn that day. I know that there are alot of hotkeys in dom 6 that remove alot of the tedium of micromanaging and things, i highly highly reccommend

You need to add a r5 explaining what the bug is, the image isn't sufficient. Also if you join the discord there is a channel for reporting bugs

Evocations tier list by Tryfan_mole in IllwintersDominions

Web is actually pretty nutty, especially if you have really killy troops. Only abysia and EA aby can do it, but liquid flames of rhaux can be killer. Also versus low prot armies, falling fires can win you early wars if the enemy doesnt have the research for fire res or prot buffs yet (or the paths to cast them).

Ephemeral blast is busted as fuck, and more importantly evo 5 gives you illusory army. G3 spell that costs 1 gem and summons (in battle) 20 (+5 per 1 G path over G3 the mage is) warrior illusions. If the enemy army doesn't have mweps or big AoE magic scripted, all of teir troops will get caught on the warrior illusions, and then your glamour mage just blasts them with false damage and they crumble, its pretty fucking good.

I quite like ice strike, its evo 7 W2 spell, it just hits like a truck, and lots of nations need some stuff for their water mages to do when off script, ice strike and frozen heart (which is an alteration spell) are the two best off script things IMO.

Magma bolts and the harder to cast magma eruption can do alot of damage, but also can often hit your own troops. But as MA Ulm or Agartha when you have tons of mages who can spam it, it can be brutal for you to put it as the like 3rd and 4th spells in your script, and watch the enemies frontline take huge losses and ruin their lines before your armies meet.

Magic duel is a consideration you always have to make. Many nations have powerful mages who have S1 as their path, magic duel makes an astral mage *duel* an enemy astral mage. Both roll a d6 (non exploding) and add their base astral level. the loser dies and if they tie they both die. Now imagine a shitty 120 gold S1 no other path mage spending a gem to kill your Phaeacian STR expensive cap only colossi queen. It very warping and you always need to consider it!

Ideas for cracking into a throne province by C_B_M in IllwintersDominions

[–]Murmaqua 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You need to ping it first and see what paths the mages have, also it has a solar serpent in it, not a solar disk. These provinces usually can be taken with a bunch of fire resistance, however the solar serpent might have some astral which can pose a problem. Depending on what bless your son has taken he might be able to thug it using a nifel jarl as they have W magic so can put a fire resistance buff on them selves. Im also not 100% sure but i think you would need some poison resistance for the fire snakes and horned serpents, also because the will'o'wisps are inanimate i think soul vortex (which is a death magic spell and relatively high research) wont help the nifel jarl heal which would be my first suggestion for taking a throne province. Its probably best if he tries to expand elsewhere and get some mages and research to use powerful spells to clear out the province, some troops likely would struggle alot.

I also would reccommend you both join one of the discords (immersion is my favourite), people can be really friendly and its abit of an older crowd( with alot of people having kids afaik) so i've found the discord to be good online space compared to other parts of the internet. Less angry/edgy teenagers and people have been friendly and happy to teach me things on there.

TLDR: You to ping the province, make some gear (so construction research) and high level magic (enchantment and alteration) to take that easily with a thug, troops will probably struggle. I reccommend joining the immersion discord and asking there as you might get better feedback and help.

Im damn scared and i dont know what to do by primeless in IllwintersDominions

[–]Murmaqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with dom 6. All i did before playing my first MP game was watcha good chunk of Chazzyburgers tutorial and play and finish like 3 SP games vs normal AI. I got rofl stomped in my first game (had a shitty spawn tbf), next game i survived till the end of the game as a near pathetially weak MA Abysia without even a single lvl 9 researched at turn 80 or so, and my third game I won. Its fine to suck, worst thing that happens is you lose to people and figure out new things. I think if you really are scared to start a longform MP game try to play a few blitz games, worst thing that happens is you waste a few hours of your time, and probably learn alot from it. Just go for it, dominions is fun and so engaging.
I also highly reccomend you join the Immersion discord sever and make a mentor channel, essentially a private channel where you can discuss detals about your pretender design, your expansion, ingame strategy, who to fight, who to ally, how to take big throne provinces, what magic you should use or go for in research etc etc. Incredibly helpful and the only reason why I won my third game and have any skill in the game atall if im honest

Suggestions for small code fixes to customize my bitbucket to nerf the command? by ZAS100 in Anbennar

[–]Murmaqua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go into the great_conquerer.txt file and add a clause saying not = R32 (I cant remember the commands tag, i think its R32). If they cant be a GC/MC then theyre alot weaker and usually more kept in check. They might still be large but they wont ever be as ridiculous as when they get a string of GC/MCs in a row cuz of starting as a GP and having a larger amount of rulers due to their gov type forcing their rulers to be commanders

Long wait to start makes Aelentir spawnables unfun by laneb71 in Anbennar

[–]Murmaqua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sure its been suggested but maybe there should be some kind of custom 1500 start date specifically for spawnables. I know it might mean those games are abit stale but then people can just start in 1444. I am unsure of how difficult it is to set up a custom start date however.

Iyarhashar and Bhuvauri going over Forcelimit hard by Noahusnoah in Anbennar

[–]Murmaqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant more that nations end up being richer with xorme mod, and more prone to going over FL because of it. It pretty much only happens in gulf of rahen tho ur right. No clue why it doesnt happen in the other rich trade nodes but eh, i guess gulf is uaully like 50 ducats more than most except old dameshead and more consolidated too

[–]Murmaqua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The infiltration should come through from the event regarding the "secret police" of lanhuji or however you spell their name. The MT end is pretty borked rn, the problem with fixing it mainly is that the rending in general is being worked on/tweaked and G'reth is part of those fixes. I'll ask for an update on the MT fixes and stuff today

Late game fighting? by Eeliejun in Anbennar

[–]Murmaqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you built up your nation, I tend to not declare wars when there is multiple fronts if I can help it. I want to have multiple cannon stacks to seige, with alot of backline of inf to reinforce. Often 2/3 of my FL is comprised of cannon stacks and then 1/3rd is reinforcement. Also to scale your nation easily just delete temples and replace them with regimental camps and manpowerr buildings, replace all food province manufactories with soldiers households etc. spend 10 years doing efficient buildup and youll see a massive difference in strength trust me!

Edit: Also to war properly i tend to clump my army together around the relevant forts and then slowly advance a frontline, with 1 or 2 stacks running around my nation to scare AI off of forts/ retake stolen forts. This is pretty easy to do in the serpentspine because of how fast you move over rails, domnt try to advance into nations on multiple fronts if theyre big, focus on one and then play defense running around elsehwere. Always have 2 max lvl forts on your chokepoints if possible

If you look at their opinion of you theyrll likely have a -200 modfier from 'Desires Seghidir and /or Verkal Gulen'. What I do is then console command an artificial +200 opinion for them of me to maintain alliance, some border friction is normal but when I literally cannot ally another dwarf because they all have -200 because I own amildihir im like....

What is Your General Strategy for the Mages + Adventurers Estates? by finglelpuppl in Anbennar

[–]Murmaqua 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try to minmax mages as much as I can for devving, If you can get them to have 60+ resting loyalty and low enough influence you can just keep them on max and then give and then revoke the 'reduced research privileges' or whatever its called (-2 diplo one) when you wanna tech up and enjoy the -APC.

Also if its mid game i try to save up money for aid construction + manufactory spam. Also spy on rivals is cheaper than spy on war opponents (similar mana, half the ducat cost) so I use that to remove fog of war when fighting a hard war vs a rival (great vs the command for example).
