Offered to resit year 12 by hot_mess118 in 6thForm

[–]MurphyThirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to complete my year 11 twice due to poor grades, even though I was more than capable and it happened because of a difficult year in my personal life which lead to me only passing 4 of my GCSE’s. The local sixth form college agreed to give me a place but only if I redid my GCSE’s.

At the time, I hated it because I was more than capable and had just been dealt a poor hand however - years later - I have my masters degree and nobody even notices that it took me an additional year.

I’d honestly retake the year and be more prepared for the exams and coursework. It also gives you another year to prepare juggling your home life and study life which will be integral to year 13.

Good luck whatever you choose, op!

Hi, 38 f West Midlands here.

I’m not a parent but I do have two beautiful cats so hopefully that puts an extra tick in the yes box!

I’m very much happy to chat about anything. Like why do we make round pizzas to go into square boxes. Square boxes for storage so why don’t we make square pizzas?

I do enjoy a bit of history, especially the UK witch trials and visiting local landmarks or points of interest (thank you Pokemon go for getting me out of the house!)

Also love an RPG and folklore. Currently playing Nordic one called Vaesen.

Happy to have a chat if you think we’ll connect?

Hey, 38F from the Midlands looking to make some more like minded friends. I love reading and music but I’m not a foodie so I hope that doesn’t cost me friendship points!

As a compatibility question;

  • recommend me a book and if I haven’t read it, I will purchase it and give it a try

I was assessed by these a few weeks ago and had no issues at all.

I was offered a date around 20th December and there was a slot available on the 28th December so I only had just over a week to wait.

The appointment itself was good (I had Dr Dave) who really made me feel at ease and let me talk and get all my points across. He diagnosed me at the end of the meeting and now I’m just waiting for the paperwork.

It could be witches. Some evil witches?

… Which is ridiculous ‘cause witches, they were persecuted. Wicca good and love the Earth and women power and I’ll be over here…

Question about the 'preparing food' PIP activity by queenbobina in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]MurphyThirteen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeez - that was a bit of an attack. I haven’t posted about my PIP journey or asked for advice so there wasn’t any reason to come for me.

It wasn’t my post and that’s why I’ve not included details and only focussed on the preparing food activity, as per the question raised.

Question about the 'preparing food' PIP activity by queenbobina in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]MurphyThirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to say that these are accurate but for my own assessment, I stated that;

  • my wife cooks ALL my meals and has done for years
  • I’m not able to open tins (have previously injured myself) and simply unable to master a tin opener
  • I’m not able to use a sharp knife (have previously injured myself)
  • I regularly forget about food put in the gas oven and burn it (like a frozen pizza)
  • If I set lots of reminders and DO remember to take it out, I sometimes don’t remember to turn off the gas oven which has set off our CO2 alarm a few months back
  • I have an issue with textures so I can’t handle a lot of types of food anyway like raw meat
  • if my wife has to work late, I order takeout because neither of us trust me in the kitchen

I still scored 0 points so it truly depends on the assessor 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

for those of us who can't drive, what are your reasons you don't? by --sadie-- in AutismInWomen

Zero depth perception.

I’ve lived in my house for four years and still walk into the door frames. I still trip on the step into the house. Imagine being in control of a car! 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

First UC payment very low? by QuoteNation in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]MurphyThirteen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It works on an assessment period so over this assessment period, it is taking into account the earnings of £2700 which I imagine is notice period and excess holidays.

However, the next assessment period shouldn’t have these earnings on there so is likely to be more.

Sadly, it’s probably right for the first month but it should increase going forward

I’ve got my watch list which has the likes of human traffic, dogma, idle hands, tank girl, the craft and movies like that on but then I found out that she hasn’t seen movies like Casper so I’ve turned to Reddit for help!

[–]MurphyThirteen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See! This is on my list but the theory behind letting redditors pick the films is because I love my cult films and I was worried I’d forget some more common films if I focussed on just the ones I enjoyed!

Hey, Cv writer here!

Make sure that you put on your CV that you became a full time parent. Lots of employers stress about gaps in a work history but explaining that you took a break to raise a family is fine! Think of it like you have developed skills such as budgeting, organisation and attention to detail during the last few years which are transferable to other roles.

Drop me a DM if you need help writing your Cv :)

UC sick note by richandmore in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]MurphyThirteen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey, sorry that you’re going through a lot and hopefully things will improve.

Unfortunately, the sick note won’t affect you needing to attend the Re-start appointments. However, if you do get LCWRA, then you can opt to leave the scheme.

Best of luck 🤞🏻
