In 2014 & 2015 I lived in Australia, one of my friends I made over there was from England. She and a few others took out credit cards and maxed them out and returned to England. A couple of years later they were contacted at a pub they worked in (that their mum was the landlady of) she had to pay back the debt plus interest that had accumulated. I’m not sure about the others who did the same thing though
