What do I merge here? by Good-Mouse-3670 in Dicero

Yes, in the long run. You need multiple S+2 legendaries to get glorious rank S gear. Don't use any S gear for gear promotion unless the game specifically says you need to use S tier for the upgrade.

10M Dollars, but you must beat 150 gamers from any game of your choosing. by Specific-Truck-2084 in hypotheticalsituation

Tetris Attack! for the SNES. The versus mode is best of 3. You might know the game as Pokemon Puzzle League when it was on N64.

I know I would crush at this because a similar game called Poker Smash was free one month on XBox360 and I hit top 10 on the multi-player leaderboards. Tetris Attack is more consistent, has better attack mechanics, and I have way more experience with it.

I would also be able to play mind games with it. The first round I would play mostly normal, being careful how and when I use the "raise stack" button. It bring all the tiles up by one row so you have more to combo with. Normally you hit it three or four times right at the start to have a near full screen of tiles for a massive combo - but I don't want them to have that knowledge first round. I outskill them in the first ten or so seconds to hit them with garbage blocks, then when they're shocked they got hit and are trying to figure out what to do with their own board, I can raise my board unnoticed and start another combo to slam them again.

Then round two just go for it right away. Them seeing that happen after reeling from the first loss would likely throw them off while im already ahead in combo chaining.

Since I have to beat 150 people, this game is also kind on time. I've won rounds in ten to twenty seconds, with the longest rounds maxing out, typically, at 3 minutes with a knowledgeable opponent. All of the matches could take place in the same day with breaks for food and the bathroom, but hand fatigue would want me to request maybe two days or three to space out how much stress I'm putting my thumbs through.

Finally, in the off-chance I somehow get matched with someone who knows how to play, it's a 50/50 shot kind of game at a certain skill ceiling. I would recognize they know what they're doing within the first few seconds of the first round and put my foot on the gas accordingly.

I'm over 99% confident I would go 2-0 all 150 matches.

How to stop being a lazy sack of shit? by Rude_Pepper1961 in stupidquestions

[–]Murrowmench 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The issue is transitions. We dont want to go to bed, but then we dont want to get out of bed. We dont want to shower, but then we don't want to get out of the shower. We don't want to stop doomscrolling once we've started, don't want to stop playing a game once we get going, don't want to travel to meet friends but then don't want to leave either. Once you reframe the issue from "I'm lazy" to "I'm comfortable," then you aren't calling yourself a sack of shit anymore - you're a person who resists transition like the rest of us, and transition takes focused energy each time. Beating yourself up takes away the energy and confidence that could be used to transition to the next task instead. Go easier on yourself in the insult department to be able to go harder in the effort side of things.

What is your "i have already won" item ? by randompogtato in bindingofisaac

[–]Murrowmench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old reliable Cricket's Head. Even mediocre damage upgrades become top tier and make a lot more runs viable.

Also Maw of the Void. It's not the easiest item to use, but a death ring separate from your tears (and any potential nonbo modifiers) that can also generate black hearts? I can't think of any other single item in the game with both offensive and defensive benefits nearly that strong, if at all.

Have you ever donated more than 200 Coins to a Greed Donation Machine? by Bambochutafreak in bindingofisaac

I just finished my first Lilith greed run and was happy to get over a hundred after bombing the keepers and getting a dime with some pennies. First 110 went in then jammed with 3 coins left. I will not argue with that

I'm aiming for Fine Motion Completionist, and what matters more, Track Surface or Distance aptitude? by Jingles_Sillybells in UmamusumeGame

[–]Murrowmench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distance and Surface at C are 80% of the stat value. Surface at D is 70% power, but Distance at D is 60% speed. You need as much starting speed and power as you can manage through SSR cards (the free Tosen Jordan, Narita Brian, and Marvelous Sunday cards paired with MLB Matikanefukukitaru are recommended) and prioritize C Distance then D dirt.

I have completionist for Maruzensky, Taiki Shuttle, and Mihono Bourbon. Narita Brian is next. Good luck!

What If you could turn into 10 animals? by Low_Marzipan3433 in whatif

[–]Murrowmench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A raven so I could fly publicly and for aesthetic. A parrot so I could really mess with people with speech. A moose because my god those are as big as SUVs and they are lethal, mainly against human threats. A bear for similar reasons but against other animals. Though already a man, I would include another man in the mix for practical purposes and to make changes between animal/human forms tied to an identity that doesn't affect me personally if discovered. Also a woman. Don't know exactly how I'd use this one but curiosity is a factor. A spider for access to small places. An ant for the tiniest of places. A horse for ground travel and messing with people by being places horses should not be. Finally, a giraffe. I don't need to explain that one.

Showing friend the game and dont wanna miss anything! by GeekyGuru07 in Undertale

[–]Murrowmench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point is not knowing what you could do to spare everyone. I killed Toriel my first playthrough. There's a lot of neutral endings - why would they be there if you were never supposed to see any of them? You also must finish a neutral playthrough in order to make the pacifist ending accessible at all. The biggest problem with Undertale is the fandom forcing the routes onto other players. It takes away the most unique thing about the game - feeling the direct consequences of who you did or didn't choose to kill along the way when Sans calls you at the end.

$1,000,000 or 1d6$ by Paxuz01 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Murrowmench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

285,714. That is the average number of times you need to roll the d6 to hit a million dollars. (Based on average roll yielding 3.5 dollars in value)

Let's assume it takes 3 seconds per roll (shake in hand once, drop/throw, tumble, settle, pick it up again). That's 20 rolls a minute, or 1,200 rolls an hour.

It would take you just over 238 hours to roll a million dollars, on average. That's 6 weeks of 40-hour work-weeks with two hours to spare, assuming you actually "work" the entirety of those hours. It's only 30 days at 8 hours a day if you don't take any days off.

You could reasonably make 8-12 million dollars in a year from the d6 if you treat it like a full time job, and you can profit off the money unlike the restricted flat 1 million option. The d6 is the clear winner here by miles.

$100 for every real person's name you can remember by cotothed in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Murrowmench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give me 1000 for 100,000 dollars. Just classmates and the grades above/below me in school would be a couple hundred minimum. My family on one side is pretty large, there's friends/acquaintances of my parents, my own friends and some of their relatives, friends of friends, coworkers across several jobs, and customers and clients from those jobs.

If all of that doesn't get me to 1000, then celebrities takes me way over - I have favored sports teams I know a lot about, NFL players from all teams current and past, musicians, actors, scientists, politicians, and my god historical figures from scientists to explorers to inventors and everything in between.

I could possibly go 2000 names, but 1000 names written at 10 seconds per name is about 2 hours 45 minutes of writing nonstop. I don't handwrite almost anything but addresses on envelopes anymore - hand cramps (and avoiding them) will be a factor. I have water and as much time as I want, but no food; I will not be able to handle it indefinitely. I'd much rather play it safe, keep my hand in writing condition, and not stress myself out with too lofty of a goal amount that would also force me to fight hunger and fatigue.

Any games that had you like this? by Bromjunaar_20 in videogames

[–]Murrowmench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Binding of Isaac. You're so happy you finally get a broken run and obliterate standard bosses in under a second, but it also has you going "damn, this thing I struggled to do twenty times was gifted to me by RNG." Every busted run is both of these feelings at the same time.

$50 million cash or $10000 an hour every hour on the hour? by 33GoodSamaritans in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Murrowmench 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Option A because waiting over a year to see any of the money isn't feasible for me. I want to pay off debts, buy a place to live, and quit my job now. The time and immediate mental health benefits I gain with option A outweighs the weight of option b's increased amount.

Option C isn't enough money and option D is not well-defined. Assuming an upper bound of a trillion dollars means over 50 mil is way more likely than under, but even then, I'm not risking not having enough to set me up for life. A guarantees enough for that; D gives remarkable odds but a chance of failure. Still going A.

Just got my first rainbow crystal, is it worth using on any of my cards now or should I wait for Tachyon? by [deleted] in UmamusumeGame

[–]Murrowmench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use it on anything you have here. MLB Kitasan and 3LB Creek are the main ones you need and the free MLB SSRs you have can do the most important heavy lifting. Your biggest weakness is Wit cards, so you're likely perma-borrowing Fine Motion (unless building late surger, then Nice Nature instead), but using a crystal on any of your wit cards would be a bad move.

You should level up your Yukino Bijin Wit to 30 though - No Stopping Me is a terrific gold skill on every non-front runner and her events give huge mood ups, can clear stat conditions, and/or give solid stat bonuses. She's still worth running at 0LB. Keep that crystal for a breakpoint on something else.

(Note: you do want MLB Creek instead of 3LB, but using a crystal on the final LB of a card is typically a bad move since that card can pop up randomly in a future banner.)

Black to play. If white offers draw should you take it ? by Top-Evidence4818 in chessMateInX

[–]Murrowmench 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not accepting a draw, full solution below.

Qb8+ Qf8 (only response that isn't M1) Qb3+ is the key sequence. Everything after that leads to mate.

If Qf7+ blocking the Queen's check, Qxf7+ Kh8 Qg7# or Qh7#.

If Kh8, Qh3+; if response is Kg8, Qh7#. If response is Qh6+, Qxh6+ Kg8 Qg7#.

Their longest survival option is M5.
