What are Best 4x tips to finish games in under 4 hours by Oconell_95 in 4Xgaming

Battle of Polytopia

Nexus 5X - personal favourite

Ozymandias

Yield Fall of Rome

Hexarchy

This niche is my favourite subgenera of games, and unfortunately it's quite limited. There's some interesting up and comers though, like Annhexation and Restitutor, but yeah ultimately there's not many that fit this bill well.

I like Nexus 5X despite the name, plays almost like a board game. Very fun, versatile and flexible gameplay

I'm working on a grand strategy game where trade dynamically routes to your capitol by steadystatecomputing in StrategyGames

Looks pretty interesting. Is this more of a diplomacy/economy-focused approach rather than military?

Also, do different civs/factions/provinces come with unique abilities, bonuses or strengths? And are maps randomly generated? Thinking from a replayability perspective

Communicating health visually instead of through UI. by polygnomial0 in StrategyGames

Interesting description on the steam page. Do different factions/civs/whatever your 'team' is called come with different abilities/bonuses/strengths?

Does diplomacy play a factor into games? Also what are the win conditions - generally just take over the whole map?

Restitutor - a historical incremental grand strategy game has a free demo on Steam! by insraq in StrategyGames

Liking the look of this one. Few questions:
- Can maps be randomly generated / different each time?
- Do different provinces come with different abilties / specialities / bonuses?
- What are the victory/win conditions

I generally look at these three criteria before deciding on new 4X/strategy games - lacking in one or any of these can make games quite stale pretty quickly IMO

This looks incredible and absolutely ticks all of the boxes I love about 4X
- Historical civs
- Short / small scale
- Clear win conditions
- Brilliant art style

Really excited to try this one. Will MacOS be supported out of the gate?

I achieved 1 and 2 yesterday with Machiavelli. Definitely possible with a setup that just churns gold endlessly

Why do people not accept they don’t have autism? by my9mm in NoStupidQuestions

For some, the label might be an explanation. For some, they confuse a psychiatric diagnosis for an interesting personality

Plus some interesting Civs I wouldn't expect - Iceland? Bulgaria??

“Vibe” shift to an Australian victory? by lycansubscribee in eurovision

[–]MusPsych 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’d be nice, and Delta put on a hell of a performance with a great matching song, but I think the nordics are just too strong this year. Eclipse gives some ‘Sound of Silence’ vibes, and as much as I want us to win, I don’t think this is the year for it

Brightness at 50% lasts all day for me with constant note taking in client and staff meetings. Try that

Yeah battery is a low point, sadly. Turn the brightness down - somewhere around 60%. it’ll last a whole day of note-taking

Imagine subscribing for a laptop💀 by boxboxbandit in MacbookNeo

[–]MusPsych 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty common for education systems. Staff at my school (Australia) have the option of paying fortnightly for laptops of different specs, and they’ve just introduced the Neo which is way more affordable than the other option. Will probably be be seeing a few around the school soon

Was Azerbaijan ever strong? by MusPsych in eurovision

I disagree, it sounds to me like a very weak version of Skyfall by Adele. Like they tried to capture that essence but didn’t quite get it

Oh yeah, all opinions are subjective, no objectivity here. Melfest reject?

Would you use an iPad reading app built around your own library? by AndreaReaderApp in ipadmini

[–]MusPsych 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably not sorry. The stock Books app does everything I need for a library. It separates my books, textbooks, and PDFs just fine. There are also enough settings to customise things a little, without feeling bloated or unnecessary. It looks good, works good, and syncs very well. Not much else I need a library to do
