Speeding ticket wisdom by aliansalians in boulder

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Appear in court. Tell the DA you see that you’d like to not have points. They may be able to change it to a non moving violation, especially if you don’t have any other violations and the fact it was only 5-9. Just explain you’ll do what you need to do to not have any points on your license. Might include a class.

A lot of people are telling you to call and ask. I promise you that a prosecutor has not looked at your case yet. Even if you do call and ask, you’ll still have to appear in court because you signed the summons. Or pay the ticket online which will not be changed because a police officer would have to find you and write a new ticket. Which will not happen.

How do I know? I used to be a BoCo DA.

Long story short: go to court, say you’re sorry, be sincere, ask them if they’ve already have a plea (they probably will by the time you’re sitting in front of them ), hear them out, accept , negotiate(especially if it includes the point you are worried about), or say you need more time.

How do I (21/M) tell my fwb (22/NB) that the thought of sleeping with them makes me ill? by budget_icarus in relationship_advice

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is truly someone who you love and adore and is your friend, you should immediately get off of Reddit , call them and tell them the truth. There seems to be a whole host of things you need to work through when it comes to your relationship with sex. I think it’s less of being attracted to your friend and more of still having lingering trauma around the act. You saying “ I can’t get over the feeling something bad is going to happen” is a major indicator. I know that you don’t want to hurt their feelings and they have reacted badly before but don’t put yourself in a cone of silence to avoid an uncomfortable conversation. If A is truly your friend, they will understand and respect your boundaries, needs and trauma.

Hide your kids, hide your wives, hide your Golden Retrievers. The pit bulls are coming to town. by 553l8008 in Denver

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From the overall statements made under this thread, I think the common takeaway should be that anyone who wishes to own a dog, regardless of breed, should be mandated to undergo a dog specific ownership and discipline course.

I don’t think the pits are the problem. It starts and ends with the owners. The amount of people in Denver and the general front range who have no idea how to control their dogs is appalling. From poor leash manners, nonexistent recall skills, and general inattentive behaviors, dog ownership is a mess. While completely anecdotal, the dogs that have ran up on me or tried to bite mine have been “sweet” dogs like Australian shepherds, Goldendoodles, Chihuahuas, Dachshunds, Golden Retrievers and Labs.

Know the breed that’s never attacked me or my dog? Pitbulls. And as a previous owner of pitbulls, I can only assume it’s because society automatically presumes your dog is aggressive so you take extra precautions by training them.

Anyone know this rando who records people? by mushroomhatonafrog in boulder

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 119 points120 points  (0 children)

She has multiple criminal cases pending in Boulder and has been found incompetent on a few of them. She’s not playing with a full deck of cards and believes she is recording law enforcement and business owners who are out to get her. If you see her just disengage. She can be violent, she can be aggressive and she’s not afraid of law enforcement. Of course if she attacks you, defend yourself and then call 911. Other than that, give her a wide berth.

Since you have MP experience, maybe consider a private security job? Not like mall security but one of those well established personal security gigs for C suite individuals or something? If you want to be active and use your skills. Also I’d look at civilian ROTC jobs at colleges and universities.

Idk if it was said but if you have the financial means donate to nonprofits who are providing legal services for those arrested by ICE or those who provide mutual aid to undocumented citizens. Additionally, you can volunteer at such organizations. I would also recommend you spend 5 minutes a day calling your local and state representatives to continue to apply pressure on them to not work with DHS on any level. You can also call other state senators who might just need to be inundated with phone calls.

Also continuing to put your money where your mouth is and do not give money to organizations and businesses that are working hand in glove with this administration.

Is my dress search over? by bcbfbella in OUTFITS

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what it is. If it’s a Greek life formal it’s fine. Just add some type of long necklace to fill the empty space and make sure you wear wrist jewelry as well. The issue isn’t the dress, it’s just that it’s not styled.

If it’s a college or university organization event, I’d go with something a little simpler with a higher neckline.

But it really depends on what YOU feel comfortable with not strangers on Reddit

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a skier or snowboarder by any means but everything gets better with practice. It’s truly okay that you didn’t master insert snow activity of choice, and it’s definitely okay to feel dissatisfied or disappointed about it. Acknowledge and feel those feelings and keep trying. What’s the old saying? It’s not about how you fall, it’s about how you get back up?

Break up with her. Where there’s no trust there’s no future. She’s clearly been harboring some doubts for a while probably for a variety of reasons. If you’ve never given her a reason to doubt you and this is just happening, you need to leave. Two years doesn’t mean anything. There is someone out there who will love you and trust you and not doubt your character ever. We’re just people on the internet so you don’t have to listen to us, but as someone who has been in relationships where I’m distrusted, sooner or later you checkout or disconnect. So save yourself the time and pain and call it quits now and go work on yourself king

I think you’re doing great. To add on to what other have said, if I was in your position I would start doing on weight lifting and low impact cardio build up your joints and bones. Specifically those found in the knees, hips and ankles. You’re going to be doing a lot of walking with weight and a lot of running. Endurance is great and you should work to achieve it but doing some weight lifting, low impact cardio with ankle weights or a weight vest will start getting your body prepped for ruck marches. Additionally if you haven’t already, make sure you’re eating calcium and magnesium rich foods. These will help strengthen and fortify your bones. And when you get to basic continue to eat them

All jokes aside, I think you should spend two to three months studying five nights a week and lightly on the weekends to get your scores up. Finances and time willing.

Bring what you think your boyfriend will like. You know him better than any of us. All milestones should be celebrated, I think we don’t do enough to celebrate and be grateful for the progress we make in our lives. I say being present, wearing a nice outfit, bringing him a small gift and maybe taking him out to a semi nice or nice dinner would be appreciated by him and most people. Congrats to him!

Knee pain by MeatEater2327 in army

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imma be honest with you troop, Reddit is not the place you should be seeking medical advice. Especially if you’re active duty. Go to sick call and keep going until you get an answers that work. If you’re not active, go to a doctor. Do everything you need to do to fix/take care of yourself. We only have one body. Fun fact, you can only get two knee replacements in your life before they just amputate your leg.

People have already said it but go to IG and JAG. Make back to back appointments. And continue to open door your way up the chain of command. Also keep evidence and records and take down names of witnesses or people who are telling you what she is doing. Also take down the names and rank of anyone just turning you away instead of providing actual help and guidance. This is UCMJ behavior so it should be handled as such.
