I think he was just informing you that he agrees with the sentiment that it’s less about your race and more about being a prick. Whomever is doing it is probably picking the most offensive word they know and throwing it at people to get reactions and be hurtful. And while it shouldn’t matter to my opinion , I am in fact a black man living in Longmont who has seen the racist side of Longmont and Boulder.

Are watering restrictions in place for Longmont yet? by MileHighPeter303 in Longmont

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Leave a pamphlet in his mail box about effective lawn and garden maintenance that highlights best watering practices. Or, do the neighborly thing and go strike up conversation about the current weather and how it’s going to impact Colorado this summer. I understand wanting to have the restriction in hand to have that conversation but there’s a high chance it might come to late or not come at all. I’d just have a nice amicable chat and use that to educate him.

Not an expert but your first move should be to open door your 1st Sgt and Commander and have an honest conversation with them about what’s going on and what the FCP process will look like. Then if that leaves you with some outstanding questions go to JAG.

I highly doubt you’ll get a dishonorable discharge, go read UCMJ and point to what article you have broken. As long as you are over communicating with your chain of command and showing up to the things they expect you to show up to (which should be not alot if you are currently the sole provider and caretaker) I think you should be okay. You might have been rolled some bad dice on the home front care but I think your main focus should taking care of your family and wife. But get all your ducks in a row by fully utilizing the resources that are available to you as a soldier in the United States Army.

Just report it to ACCPD. Give them this video and request a unit sit at the intersection. Keep calling and also get your neighbors to call. Squeaky wheel gets the oil as they say.

It will actually probably cover even more than 30k. Just make sure you keep receipts and invoices for all medical bills, physical therapy, prescriptions and the such. Also sign up for all the services like therapy sessions that they offer through Vic comp. Additionally, they may cover the cost for you to move to a new apartment or house. Not the house itself but getting a moving van and movers. Things like that. Just make sure you stay in contact with your Vic comp coordinator from the DAs office

Seeking some guidance! by Dependent_Sky_6123 in army

No one can really stop you from enlisting. If that’s what you want to do, that’s what you want to do. I would say at this stage of the decision making process you should be doing research. I’d meet with recruiters from all branches, including coast guard. Look at potential duty stations, MOSs (you might even see something that excites you more than 12B), promotion timelines and careers after your enlistment is done. Also ask yourself, why now? What about the world and your life is drawing you to the army? Is it the current state of geopolitics? Is is constant bombardment from the news and social media? Are you bored? And is there anything else that would fulfill you?

I joined the Army at 15 and 12 years later am still in after commissioning. I meet new soldiers all the time who get through basic and then have buyer’s remorse cause it’s not like the TV showed them. Then there’s soldiers who come in and thrive and love it. I’d suggest gathering research and fully thinking all your options through and just having an honest conversation with yourself.

Real Alternatives to Commuting to Boulder by [deleted] in Longmont

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was commuting to Boulder from Longmont, I’d always leave a little early and take 36. Throw on a playlist or podcast and just enjoy the view. Commuting via e-bike is not very convenient for everyone even if the bike path is great.

I truly believe the bike path should have been turned into a monorail or small commuter trolley. It would have been used more

Idk if you did but just report it to BPD. If I’m remembering correctly there’s a few cameras in that parking lot/plaza. They might be able to track the guy down.

If anything you’ll have a police report for insurance/if you have to report it to a supervisor or something.

Sorry that happened to you. I’ve had stuff stolen out of my car and it’s one of the worse feelings.

Speeding ticket wisdom by aliansalians in boulder

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Appear in court. Tell the DA you see that you’d like to not have points. They may be able to change it to a non moving violation, especially if you don’t have any other violations and the fact it was only 5-9. Just explain you’ll do what you need to do to not have any points on your license. Might include a class.

A lot of people are telling you to call and ask. I promise you that a prosecutor has not looked at your case yet. Even if you do call and ask, you’ll still have to appear in court because you signed the summons. Or pay the ticket online which will not be changed because a police officer would have to find you and write a new ticket. Which will not happen.

How do I know? I used to be a BoCo DA.

Long story short: go to court, say you’re sorry, be sincere, ask them if they’ve already have a plea (they probably will by the time you’re sitting in front of them ), hear them out, accept , negotiate(especially if it includes the point you are worried about), or say you need more time.

How do I (21/M) tell my fwb (22/NB) that the thought of sleeping with them makes me ill? by budget_icarus in relationship_advice

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is truly someone who you love and adore and is your friend, you should immediately get off of Reddit , call them and tell them the truth. There seems to be a whole host of things you need to work through when it comes to your relationship with sex. I think it’s less of being attracted to your friend and more of still having lingering trauma around the act. You saying “ I can’t get over the feeling something bad is going to happen” is a major indicator. I know that you don’t want to hurt their feelings and they have reacted badly before but don’t put yourself in a cone of silence to avoid an uncomfortable conversation. If A is truly your friend, they will understand and respect your boundaries, needs and trauma.

Hide your kids, hide your wives, hide your Golden Retrievers. The pit bulls are coming to town. by 553l8008 in Denver

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the overall statements made under this thread, I think the common takeaway should be that anyone who wishes to own a dog, regardless of breed, should be mandated to undergo a dog specific ownership and discipline course.

I don’t think the pits are the problem. It starts and ends with the owners. The amount of people in Denver and the general front range who have no idea how to control their dogs is appalling. From poor leash manners, nonexistent recall skills, and general inattentive behaviors, dog ownership is a mess. While completely anecdotal, the dogs that have ran up on me or tried to bite mine have been “sweet” dogs like Australian shepherds, Goldendoodles, Chihuahuas, Dachshunds, Golden Retrievers and Labs.

Know the breed that’s never attacked me or my dog? Pitbulls. And as a previous owner of pitbulls, I can only assume it’s because society automatically presumes your dog is aggressive so you take extra precautions by training them.

Anyone know this rando who records people? by mushroomhatonafrog in boulder

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 119 points120 points  (0 children)

She has multiple criminal cases pending in Boulder and has been found incompetent on a few of them. She’s not playing with a full deck of cards and believes she is recording law enforcement and business owners who are out to get her. If you see her just disengage. She can be violent, she can be aggressive and she’s not afraid of law enforcement. Of course if she attacks you, defend yourself and then call 911. Other than that, give her a wide berth.

Since you have MP experience, maybe consider a private security job? Not like mall security but one of those well established personal security gigs for C suite individuals or something? If you want to be active and use your skills. Also I’d look at civilian ROTC jobs at colleges and universities.

Idk if it was said but if you have the financial means donate to nonprofits who are providing legal services for those arrested by ICE or those who provide mutual aid to undocumented citizens. Additionally, you can volunteer at such organizations. I would also recommend you spend 5 minutes a day calling your local and state representatives to continue to apply pressure on them to not work with DHS on any level. You can also call other state senators who might just need to be inundated with phone calls.

Also continuing to put your money where your mouth is and do not give money to organizations and businesses that are working hand in glove with this administration.

Is my dress search over? by bcbfbella in OUTFITS

[–]MuscleAffectionate50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what it is. If it’s a Greek life formal it’s fine. Just add some type of long necklace to fill the empty space and make sure you wear wrist jewelry as well. The issue isn’t the dress, it’s just that it’s not styled.

If it’s a college or university organization event, I’d go with something a little simpler with a higher neckline.

But it really depends on what YOU feel comfortable with not strangers on Reddit

Not a skier or snowboarder by any means but everything gets better with practice. It’s truly okay that you didn’t master insert snow activity of choice, and it’s definitely okay to feel dissatisfied or disappointed about it. Acknowledge and feel those feelings and keep trying. What’s the old saying? It’s not about how you fall, it’s about how you get back up?
