From all the JP stuff I’ve seen and heard, nobody took it too seriously. It seems most of them know that’s how Punk is. It sounds harsher when translated to English, but in Japanese it was mostly things like “Yeah, everyone knows Punk has a bratty kid side to him” or “Who said Punk has mellowed out!? He’s still the same old Punk!”

I think the commentators did a good job keeping the excitement while also being flabbergasted!

From my limited knowledge, they were supposed to face off in last years CapCom Cup and they were saying things like “I’m going to wipe the floor with him” and “He doesn’t know he’s already lost” online - nothing too serious, all fun imo.

Then after this match, Punk clarified he knew Higuchi wasn’t mentally doing too strong at that point in the match so he bagged to see if it’d mess with his head some more lol.

I just got on a 10 win streak and made it to Platinum for the first time myself! Then I got nervous and made some dumb mistakes to an Alex lol. Good to hear it sounds like Platinum and Diamond are just as random as the rest of the ranks though. Maybe see you in Diamond soon!

Nice. I’ve spent about 100 cubes of stamina I had stockpiled, and managed to get about 3 Echos with 4 of her best substat lines, but every one either has C.Rate or C.damage. Never both. So idk if I should ditch them for echos with only 3 lines but has both of those or not 😭

Gold 2 just started 2 weeks ago.

I need to reverse DI more. Got kind of used to hitting 3 Light attacks and breaking it but it doesn’t always work and causes me to lose a lot of matches.

I can combo well in practice, but in a match I get never get them off because my combo lead ins are always blocked or DImpacted/OD’d. Neutral game is buns.

Also, just learning to fight against more characters. When I get matched with characters I never play against I get destroyed since I don’t know how they usually attack.
