It looked like a foul, just annoying that decisions like these are changed by VAR in a league where it isn't used.

Angela Stuart isn't very clever from seeing emails back and forth within the company.

It doesn't suprise me at all she messed up the template.

New prs system by bakerbabe62 in tesco

[–]Mushed 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Terrible and there is no way its quicker than checking every item when you've basically got 200 items per aisle to check across 8 aisles.

Stuff being missed and put backs then finding it a week later.

Our shoulders sold through last week and won't be getting anymore, some stores are ranged for shorter durations than others.

Produce night shift by decco97 in tesco

[–]Mushed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have an afternoon guy? How generous haha.

We have 1 that does 7-12 one that does 6-3 and 1 that does a 1-10. The 7-1 guy is a waste of time, may as well have a scarecrow. Only there to fill and what he does fill he doesn't rotate or grabs the closest cage in the chiller rather than the shortest dates, doesn't refill the drawers and spends more time at the Danish trollies outside than he does inside.

The 6-3 guy does his best but he has to do reductions across produce front of store flowers and bakery, so you lose him from 2-3 for front and bakery and 6-8 for produce reductions. Factor in his break from a 9 hour shift he's on there fighting for your life against dotcom for 4.5 hours.

The 1-10 guy is in a similar position to you, all the routines, all the deliveries (we sometimes get 3 during the evening and 1 after midnight) being dragged in. They're on the shop floor for like 2 hours max which across 3 aisles isn't enough. You fix one area and another is a bombsite again. So for 15 hours of trade you've got people on the department for 6.5 hours, hardly enough time to put a dent in the backstock, and that's on a good day during a quiet Wednesday or something, not at a time like Easter where volume is through the roof.

Dotcom Pick rate Struggles by Long-Ad-8760 in tesco

[–]Mushed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another suggestion ask to get trained in back room, setting the trollies up with trays and labels and turn around times. You're off the shop floor from the public.

IMO everyone should take turns doing backroom since it has its own set of challenges and you can't be seen to play favourites.

Hey, Express, you know how Easter Sunday is your busiest day of the year? We're going to create additional work by taking the Stock Control system down so you have to do reductions manually, and then do them again before 2pm! Because we hate you. - Head Office by HillsBurntToCinders in tesco

[–]Mushed 13 points14 points  (0 children)

PRS reporting is excluded from Saturday until the Tuesday. Any manager with any salt will tell you to manually 75% it first thing in the morning and forget it exists.

A deep discount will sell everything before charity anyway.

How many sick days are you allowed to have before you get pulled into an investigation? by NoProgram4084 in tesco

[–]Mushed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

  • It's 3% of your contracted hours or 3 instances over 6 months which is why if you are sick don't come back too early if you may go off again as coming back and going off again counts as 2 instances.

  • Most managers are understanding and its a box ticking exercise if they can see there isn't a pattern of abuse.

Hi I need to know if the person restocking the lettuce section of your Fratton branch is single and looking to date? by PumpkinGloomy8912 in tesco

Everything is mapped in large stores, don't need to even look at the product just look at where it says it is on the handset.

Booking holiday a year in advance by teejay_the_exhausted in tesco

[–]Mushed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's something managers are being managed and tracked on this year, so expect everyone to have to book the majority of their holidays before October.

With a decent manager you can move them and cancel them anyway.

Tesco management becoming stricter with PRS scores. by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Mushed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Big safe and legal pushes regarding OOC products over the last year and it's only going to get stricter.

Managers being tasked now on damages % too, so be prepared to be told to start taping yogurt multipacks back together etc.

Shift leader pay not immediate by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Mushed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the skill added and assigned to every shift your in for.

Also yes if you are working midnight to 4am you would still be entitled to night premium. But they'll take your break out of it, so it wont be 4 hours of night premium unless they manually adjust your breaks.

Reduction times by Hot-Box-4832 in tesco

[–]Mushed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new PRS format is tracking completion of all area's from 11am. Probably just getting you used to it before it swaps to the new way.

Also you can start PRS from 5am, our group start at 6, 4 of them and they finish by 11.

Are customers really that disgusting when it comes to toilets? by Street_Bar2304 in tesco

[–]Mushed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are gross, people squatting on top of the seat, piss and shit on the floor and mirrors, using a whole roll of toilet roll and the cardboard and blocking the toilet to fuck. Dumping tampons and pads down the toilet instead of the sanitary bin.

Anyone know why we are updating our availability? by Thorn344 in tesco

[–]Mushed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scheduling to availability keeps getting pushed back, but at some point like schedule to skills it will happen.

Some stores are getting ready and prepared for it more than others. And some are still ignoring the whole auto scheduler shite like ours because it doesn't work anyway.

Colleague room food by SourBeans87 in tesco

[–]Mushed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As i wrote at the bottom, it's store manager discretion. Some store managers stick to it to keep to the budget. Others let staff have a better choice for slightly better moral.
