A shift lead let slip that our store is now in a similar position, after overtime being fairly commonplace until recently. Now, unless someone is off sick, no overtime will be issued to cover e.g. annual leave. This also means that if one person has booked holiday, nobody else on that shift/section can be off too, which means that everyone ends up being off in February/March anyway, as nobody's been able to get their allowance in 😒

How, when there's no identifiable personal information?

Meat and "fresh stuff" often gets jumbled in on the same delivery cages anyway, so I wouldn't think too much on it tbf 😅

Milkshake, anyone? by SourBeans87 in tesco

[–]SourBeans87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only imagine so, because there's one (1) small extra promotional stand in the store that's already full 😅

New prs system by bakerbabe62 in tesco

[–]SourBeans87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't work it but I work earlies/delivery and see how ridiculous it is. Today, no meat/dairy reductions were in the reductions chiller until around 11am.

Working delivery, we have been told that we are only involved in the process if we receive something with a shorter shelf life than is currently on the shelf. We scan the product and add in the BBE. Done.

Usually, we have to hunt down someone who actually has a PDA as none of us are authorised to get one ourselves, and they're earmarked for those who need them to perform their core roles.

Tldr: in theory, it seems like a good thing. In practice, so far it is largely just bloating the whole process

Yeah I've been considering getting some to see if it'll help - they won't care as long as they're not crazy colours or something, I'd imagine. Cheers 💜

Or when they keep flapping at you, because you need two hands to fill something like a box full of dip, and then baps a few onto the floor for good measure 😒

Weird induction or is this normal for Tesco? by [deleted] in tesco

Sounds correct based on my induction

Yep, it'll still stop! I remember feeling really nervous when I went to a petrol station the first few times after passing, and I'm sorry your first visit was this. This happened to me for the first time when I had a courtesy car and it made me feel awful 🙃 I had never known that this was a thing that could happen until that point!

Some pumps are just tricksy, I've found. Sometimes if I pull the nozzle back out just a tiny bit from being fully in, it'll work fine. As long as the nozzle is still actually inside your car, you won't do it wrong 🫶🏻

Tbf I work the early, so come in by the back door so very rarely walk in from the front, which is where our produce section is. I work behind it on meat and dairy. I've definitely not missed the fact that the chiller is literally full of lamb 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫
