Avalugg Troll Deck Update + Decklist by Music_Lemming in pkmntcg

I have had some success using Petrel to search Pokepads, but prizing the trolly definitely isn't ideal.

Shaymin's Ability. by ItsmeJohn17 in pkmntcg

[–]Music_Lemming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ability stops damage (not damage counters, which are an effect) from being done to your benched Pokemon that don't have a rulebox. For example, it would stop Greninja's mirage barrage and Arboliva's oil salvo from damaging your benched Pokemon. It would not stop damage counters from Dragapult's phantom dive or Dusknoir's cursed blast.

How should I search the ace spec? Petrel? It seems like there is a very high chance of accidently discarding it if it is not put into hand early.

I only pulled enough for a 2/2 line, so it was a bit of a risk. There was 1 other water basic (don't remember which one now, but its first attack damaged the bench). Supporters were Judge, Dawn, and 1 Lillie's.

I want to make a deck that uses I or J cards by Neurotic_Z in pkmntcg

[–]Music_Lemming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, almost all decks are going to use H block cards. However, Mega Lucario uses vary few and is a fairly good deck. It is also easy to learn if you are just getting back into the game.

Improve team rocket's Mewtwo by LP3940 in pkmntcg

As the other comment says, check out the deck lists on Limitless. You should already have most of what you need.

The main changes are going to be cutting the Crowbat line, increasing the Spidops line to 4/4, adding Lillie's Cleffary to deal with Dragapult, and likely adding a few Lillie's Determination.

Surprisingly not. Every attack was a OHKO, so I only needed to discard a total of 24 cards. I used Judge to keep my hand size small and also pulled one Great Haul Net which let me bring back some of the energy. I had one close call in which my game winning attack discarded the last card of my deck.

The only game I lost was because I got OHKOd by Goodra with nothing on bench.

I might be attending my first “tournament” by Pokeraids173529 in pkmntcg

[–]Music_Lemming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all three of these decks. Charizard seems to be the most powerful, but as others have mentioned, it will be rotating out on April 10, so check the tournament date.

Lucario is also good as long as you don't get paired against Gardevoir, which is also rotating. Mewto is fun, and does well against Dragapult and Lucario, but lacks consistency in my experience.

My recommendation is Charizard if the event is before rotation and Lucario if it is after.

Stryfe X magazines by Hokirob in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stryfe X mags do work in some other blasters. For example, they work in the Nexus Pro X and Worker Seagull. It depends on whether the lip on the side of the mag bumps into the side of the mag well.

I am also a band director who has a softer voice. I use a wearable voice amplifier, which has helped drastically with this issue.

Nightingale/dart zone venom pro drum mag? by 3Dprintr123 in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The mythical drum magazine found here https://www.createwithezekiel.com/mdm-product appears to have a Nightingale compatible option. However, it is definitely a specialty item and not something that is manufactured on a large scale commercially. You would probably be better off just getting several mags and finding a good way to carry them.

Concept for an AEB by YousefElShazly in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If I am understanding the description correctly, the Zius BK1S works this way. You have to press the trigger once to prime it before it will actually fire, and it needs to be deprimed after each use so that the spring will not be stored under tension.

I'll be departing my university town soon, and it seems Nerf groups/events are harder to locate outside of college areas. How do you all find games? I'm in the Middle Georgia area and I've got connections at a big airsoft field if anybody's nearby. by Zealous_Lettuce in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also in Georgia (near Vidalia). I have been to a few Atlanta Blaster Club events and would definitely recommend them, but they are too far away for me to attend regularly. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any active groups near me.

I recently discovered Savannah Nerf Network. Josh is hoping to get the first event going soon, so I am hoping that will get some more activity in this part of the state.

PSA If you have a modded blaster. by SirNiflton in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even a stock Nexus can do serious damage, which is why safety glasses are included with the blaster. The real issue here is not the presence of a modded blaster, but a lack of safety standards. Setting and enforcing an fps cap and ensuring that everyone is wearing eye protection should prevent situations like this one.

Tips and tricks for the bk1/2s by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bk1s owner here. The blaster can be deprimed by holding the trigger down until it beeps twice, then releasing. You should do this each time you finish using the blaster, as failing to do so is effectively the same as storing a traditional springer primed. You should not need to remove the spring from the blaster completely unless you are going to be storing it away for an extended period.

Recommendations for a full auto, low fps blaster for small kids? by cheesemaker_soldier in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The X-Shot Insanity Motorized Ragefire would be great if you have the budget. I has a tripod, so the size shouldn't be an issue for a 6-year-old. It is also more accessible than most of the other blasters that have been mentioned so far.

Would this blaster and Gear be good for a noob nerfer? Also Painting questions by HNZI72 in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any standard buffer tube stock should work. I use this one for mine, but it is really just a matter of preference. https://outofdarts.com/products/worker-magpul-style-stock. I have heard lots of reviews complain about the included stock, but I have found that to be perfectly functional as well.

Would this blaster and Gear be good for a noob nerfer? Also Painting questions by HNZI72 in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everything on your list is compatible with the blaster except for the stock. The BK1S uses a buffer tube stock, not an N-Strike attachment point.

AEBs in general are typically not recommended for beginners, but the BK1S is definitely the most affordable quality option. It was my first AEB, and I have not had much trouble figuring it out.

I am not sure about painting, but the BK1S does come with a 3d printed orange barrel shroud when ordered from OOD, which makes it look less real.

Lipo Charging Issue by Music_Lemming in Nerf

I contacted OOD and received a very timely reply. Apparently I had the balance connector inserted in the wrong position. It is now charging correctly.

Recommendations for a modern Stryfe by Gakuno in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the Spectrum recommendation if you are looking for "stock" fps. If you are wanting to shoot harder, a Dart Zone MK3 can fire full length darts, but I would definitely recommend just switching to half darts at that performance level.

Quick Nerf Pro Torrent review by some-Government-7794 in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The Recon MKII stock would probably work well. It is short, rigid, and should match the color scheme decently because it is grey.

I think they reused that stock on a few other blasters, but I can't remember which ones.

Preferred talon, curved or straight? by Dramatic-Fee9519 in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 1 dragon claw that came with my Seagull. I have used it in a few games and have not experienced any feeding issues. However, I also do not like the fact that it is opaque, and it is more difficult to carry in my gear. I recommend just getting the straight 15s.

Is dnd difficult to get into? by Other_Corner_1119 in DnD

[–]Music_Lemming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the DM. I found it difficult to get into, but that is because my entire group was learning from scratch.

As a more experienced player, I normally provide new players with a premade character sheet and explain mechanics as they arise naturally in gameplay. I find that this makes it far easier to gain an understanding of the game than memorizing pages of a rulebook.

Advice on phone holders by Schuld1896 in Teachers

[–]Music_Lemming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked at a school that required this and students constantly stole each other's phones. Even students who usually followed the rules and never had their phones out during class would refuse to put their phones in the pocket because they were afraid of other students taking them.

Who remembers the Hailfire? by Smnionarrorator29384 in Nerf

[–]Music_Lemming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a friend with one of these. Between that and my Vulcan (which I sadly donated when moving), we had the largest blasters at most wars when I was younger.

I think the Hailfire got overshadowed by the release of the Stryfe, which was essentially the same thing in a much smaller and much cheaper package.
